Second this. It would be a tough pill to swallow.

He obviously got bad advice from someone because why give up a starters role and think you are going to get a lot of money when you averaged about 9 points a game.

Could he enter the transfer portal (test his options) and come back? Or you have to change hands once filed for the transfer portal.

Seems like Zek jumped the gun on entering the transfer portal if he truly is chasing NIL money.

He has been on an upward trajectory and I think he has a high ceiling, but he still has a lot of room for improvement. Had he chosen to stay another year and improved his game I think he could have gained a lot more attention in the portal. Power conference schools won't just pick up anyone from the portal, they want proven success. I think Zek has the potential to be a really good player, but just hasn't gotten there yet.

I guess the portal works both ways, maybe we will find someone fairly equal to replace him from the portal?

When a player puts their name the portal they are giving up the scholarship at their current school.

In theory he could if Wardle would have him back, but I am pretty sure Wardle said that any player who enters the portal won't be coming back. Which is probably the best policy to have. You don't want your players entering the portal every year "just to see" what else is out there.

Interesting choice....hope he got the big money he was looking for. It obviously wasn't to go somewhere to challenge and compete. And definitely not close to home.

Downgrade or at most lateral move. Poor move for Zek.

Rhode Island finished next to last in the A-10 (9-22, 5-13). Only Loyola was worse.

Wish Zek good luck. He's a good guy.
URI is a good school, and it's a beautiful campus.

You can still see him play in Chicago and St. Louis.

He will be battling Loyola for the basement of a fading conference

I wish he had stayed because I saw a lot of promise in him. He was getting better in all aspects of his game. I knew his leaving had nothing to do with him getting closer to home.Good luck to him.

This looks from the outside like a huge mistake. He leaves a team on the brink of the NCAA tournament, and the possibility of a starring role. To at best a starring role on a bad team. Probably got out there and realized the grass really wasn't greener, and the door had already locked behind him.

He listened to the wrong people. Too many unscrupulous agents out there right now. He will not be on a stage where he will get noticed. Bradley will be on a better stage. Better team, competing for the conference title, possibly NCAA

Following a five-year investigation into allegations of recruiting violations against the University of Louisville and several other programs, the Independent Accountability Resolution Process released...
