I hope Bradley continues to invest in our basketball program. If they don’t, they’ll get $0 from me in terms of donations. Basketball is the only reason I donate.
Wardle's contract is up... it is surprising that he will go through the end of this extension without another extension... Dr. Reynolds will continue to build Bradley basketball - I have confidence in the work he has done with Bradley Basketball (and sports)! Go Braves

This 2023 date might be the last reported extension in the press, but there was another extension given Coach Wardle a couple seasons ago that extended his contract through the 2024-2025 season.

DC beat me to it but yeah. If I remember correctly shortly after the back to back Arch Madness wins. They extended Wardle’s contract and gave him a raise.

So we still have a couple seasons. But my personal opinion is Wardle is due another extension and raise. I’d like to see him extended to ‘28-‘30 or thereabouts.

They absolutely need to give him another extension. Uncertainty affects recruiting for future years.

He’d have to take a big job if offered. Maybe Oklahoma after Mosier goes to ND.

Hearing Bradley's Brian Wardle to Western Kentucky.

Western Kentucky needs to replace their head coach, Rick Stansbury, who resigned at the end of their season. They finished 17-16, but just 8-12 in the Conference USA. The CUSA was a 1-bid league, and through much of the last couple decades, has been an inferior basketball league to the MVC. This year, they finished as the 10th ranked conference in combined NET, while the MVC, dragged down by several unusually poor teams, finished as the 15th ranked conference.
Stansbury resigned on March 11, 2023 citing needing to focus on his health and family. There may be more to the story, since he still had 3 more years on his contract that was just last October was extended through 2026, and paid him a base salary of $650,000 plus a couple possible bonus clauses. That is essentially the same as what Brian Wardle earns at Bradley.
                https://www.bgdailynews.com/sports/w...2030%2C%202026.

Western Kentucky's average attendance this season was 4,026, compared wit Bradley's average of 4,947.

I have some skepticism that he would make this decision this quickly, less than 24 hours after the season ended, but let's see what develops. Western Kentucky does not seem like a step up for Coach Wardle, especially since there will be a number of much higher level programs looking for a new coach..
Whoever started this Wardle to Western Kentucky rumor was way off, as we all suspected.
WKU just hired Texas A&M Corpus Christi head coach Steve Lutz-

Does this mean Wardle is staying?

“Chitlin man is back,” “Wardle is headed to Nashville Auto Diesel College,” so many unsubstantiated rumors I don’t know what to think anymore!
