Palese is a 6'5" redshirt-freshman guard from Waukesha, Wisconsin, who redshirted the 2021-22 season, then only played in 4 games for a total of 9 minutes this season.
He had at least 10 other offers out of high school, including Southern Illinois, Missouri State, UW-Milwaukee, Green Bay, Siena, Fairfield, LIU, Canisius, WIU, and UC Davis.
Also, Jalen Jackson, who left UIC, has transferred to Purdue-Fort Wayne of the Summit League.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

Belmont takes another hit. Their starting center Evan Brauns entered the transfer portal yesterday, and today, backup center Frank Jacubicek enters the portal.

Also, backup forward Michael Shanks enters the portal.
Last season, head coach Casey Alexander was hurt by the portal, losing 2 of his best players. Will Richard became a starter for Florida, and JaCobi Wood, started all 32 games for Murray State. Both averaged double-digits for their new schools. This year, it's starting to look like more of the same.

Hard to keep up... another MVC transfer-
6'7" forward Antoine Smith of Evansville enters the portal-
Smith was an enigma at Evansville. These last 2 seasons, Smith appeared to be one of the more athletic players with size (6'7") and one of the better 3-point shooters (career 38.6%) on a woefully bad team lacking size, and with very little athleticism, and terrible perimeter shooting. Yet, he hardly ever played under Todd Lickliter, and was relegated to mostly a reserve role under David Ragland.
He has one season remaining for his Covid year.

Murray State's 2nd leading scorer Jamari Smith announced on social media that he is leaving Murray State, and will forego his final season of eligibility.
He said on social media that he plans on seeking pro opportunities, and there is no report that he has entered the transfer portal-

More turnover for Dana Ford (or whoever replaces him) at Missouri State-
Missouri State junior college transfer big man Jonathan Mogbo (6'8", 225 lb), who played in 30 of their 32 games, and started 28 of them, has entered the portal.
He averaged 8.0 ppg and 7.0 rpg this past season. It's hard to see him getting more playing time elsewhere, so it's hard to understand his reason for transferring. With the transfer of backup center Dawson Carper, Mogbo's transfer leaves Missouri State with only one inside big man, freshman N.J. Benson, who played sparingly and averaged only 2.8 ppg and 2.5 rpg. Expect whoever their coach is to be active again recruiting the transfer portal.
Missouri State forward Jonathan Mogbo started in 28 games for the Bears this past season and recorded five double-doubles.
