In addition to #1 seed Bradley (NET #73) getting upset in the championship of the MVC Tournament, other #1 seed/regular season winners are going down in their conference tournaments. Over this past weekend, Ohio Valley Conference #1 seed Morehead State (NET #225) was upset by SEMO in their semifinal round, and Sun Belt Conference #1 seed Southern Miss (NET #87) was upset in their quarterfinal round by South Alabama.
In tonight's tournament games (Monday, 3/6)-
Horizon League winner and #1 seed Youngstown State just lost in their tournament semifinal to #169 NET Northern Kentucky. YSU had an NET of 117, but that will drop. They will also play in the NIT.

Colonial Athletic Association co-champion and #1 seed Hofstra just lost in their tournament semifinal to #147 NET UNC-Wilmington. Hofstra had an NET of 82, but will drop.

So there are now 5 auto-bids already locked up for the NIT by these conference #1 seeds losing in their tournaments, and being unlikely to get NCAA at-large bids.
The more of these NIT auto-bids occur, it could push lower NET teams into the NIT as auto-bids, and improve Bradley's chances of getting a Top 4 regional seed, which would mean a 1st round home game.
