I kinda understand what ur saying, but our discipline and coaching style and expectations is our culture. We don’t have “take over” players who can kind of buck the play and just say “hey I’m gonna get these buckets regardless of the play” like DeVries… u have to have a special player(s) to do that stuff.

it can be frustrating at times but overall I think our discipline and structure wins out 90% of the time

We won 25 game, the conference championship, and had a 12 game win streak (one of the longest in the history of BU basketball). We lost in the finals of the tournament to an overly experienced and talented team in Drake thanks to the COVID rules. Too much coaching isn't the problem. We just lost a game and didn't play well. For crying out loud, this is one of the best seasons we've had in the history of BU basketball so I'm not sure where this is coming from, but I feel that it's grossly misplaced.

It's easy to be overly emotional about a loss like yesterday's so quickly after the game ends. Objectively, like you said, it wasn't a bad loss. It's always very challenging to win 3 games in three days, even in the MVC. Drake has a more talented and experienced team overall IMO, and had a much easier path to the championship game. A loss yesterday wasn't that unexpected, I just think it was hard to see a loss like the one BU had, and it made it more emotional than it should have been. If BU lost by 7 yesterday it would feel totally different.

I agree 100%. Drake was simply the better team today.

If they were just running around all going one-on-one the criticism would be that we don't run offense. I don't think the team looks robotic at all. As previously mentioned, there isn't a guy on this team that excels at hero ball. Maybe Zek or Hick will someday. However, the strength of this team was inside. You have to run offense to get buckets, otherwise they will just double and triple team Rienk like they did this weekend. I though they made great adjustments on Saturdays running cutters to the weakside after Rienk would get double teamed, which ended in some dunks. If we hit 3s at a better rate I think we would have had more breathing room Friday and Saturday, and been more competitive yesterday. Look at how InStU and Drake had us scrambling after 3 point shooters, and unable to help inside.

Like I've been saying all year, the guard position has been a weakness this year, and good took advantage of it, which we saw yesterday.
