His plan was to leave and go play pro, but it makes sense for him to test the portal and see what kind of offers he might get. If there is big NIL money with a good program being dangled, why not play another year (or two) and pocket that. He can still go play pro if no better offer comes, which is what he planned to do anyway.
He could even return to Bradley, though I am not hearing that he has considered that, yet.

Maybe he wants to play in the NCAA tourney. All u have to do is go to any half ass power 5 team and you will more than likely get an invite. It almost takes a miracle season for a mid major to even get a chance to play in it anymore.DUBL R 1

Everyone has the right to their own opinion and I have the right to mine. I am not giving my hard earned money to help develop these kids for other schools. They have a right to do whatever they want but I don’t have to partake and I’m not.

Rienk is a good, skilled player. He did have a 14/12 game against Wisconsin, but it wasn't enough to carry the team. I think he can have some success at the Power5 level, but he would have to fight an uphill battle and would likely be at an athletic disadvantage much of the time at that level.
Whatever he does, he gave BU 3 great years. It was a pleasure to watch him play, and he accomplished a lot at BU in his time here. I wish him the best wherever he ends up.

Obviously can't blame a kid for wanting to make some money and play in the NCAA tournament either if he can transfer to a good program....
A masters would take at least 2 more years, and a PhD, or other advanced degree 4 or more years. Plus the kind of time and work needed for those advanced degrees would be nearly impossible with the time he'd need to dedicate to basketball.
Most grad transfers just take a few classes to qualify as a full time student and play basketball another year, with no intention of actually getting a post-grad degree.

From what I hear, Home of the brave hasn’t offered any NIL money for next year. So I think he was leaving regardless of what he was offered.
I think he’ll struggle to produce for a p5 team. He’s not athletic enough and is undersized to play the 5. He got annihilated against the big from Wisconsin.
