I don't see Duke going anywhere. He's not eligible for immediate eligibility since it would be his 2nd transfer, and I can't see him wanting to sit out and lose a year. And at 5'6", he's not going to get interest from a high major.

Rienk would get some higher-level offers, but I think there's a chance he'd play a lesser role.

I think its most likely he has a lesser role at a P5. Look at how he disappeared against more athletic bigs.

I also totally agree on Duke. I can't imagine him leaving unless he's told he will have a much smaller role.

Didn't Sammy Maniscalco transfer to Illinois for his final season because Bradley did not offer his course of study as a major? I would be disappointed to see Mast enter the portal. If he were to transfer to a school that offers a major in his course of study as well as an legitimate chance of playing in the NCAA Tournament, who could find fault?

His streakiness, at times erratic play, and poor defense due to size are not ideal for a team that hopes to be in a position to compete for bigger things next year.

I still think with at least Hick, Zek, and Leons back we can build something really good. We have at minimum Jonovic and Hannah for the 5, so while we still need a more athletic bulldozer down low either way, point guard and shooters would be the biggest needs still.
I’d like Duke to stick around. No defensive liability issues jump out in my mind from this season and his positive demeanor and leadership were certainly a big part of our success this year. As a short guy, I think height is overrated, though I certainly see the point in a game like basketball though I believe PG is the one position we can manage it. I remember seeing some similar complaints about DB on these boards in the past and he turned out to be pretty good. Not saying Deen is the next DB, but who am I to say he can’t be. Either way, he’s a warrior and I like having him around and would be sad to see him go.

Sam did transfer to Illinois but not sure course of study was the major factor. Sam and the Maniscalco family were quite close to Jim Les and his unceremonious firing was likely a major factor in his departure from BU. Sadly his foot/ankle issues followed him to Illinois.

Yes, as houstonbrave said, it was related to the firing of Jim Les. When Sam injured his ankle (severe sprain) early in his senior season (2010-11), he was advised to redshirt. But Bradley was picked high in the preseason poll that season and everyone knew the President was looking for an excuse to fire Jim, so Sam wanted to play through the injury. But, Joanne Glasser and Mike Cross assured Sam and his dad Carl that if the season didn't go well (Taylor Brown was already ruled out with his heart issue), Jim's job would be safe. The Maniscalcos did not want a redshirt if it meant Jim would get fired and Sam would have to play for a new coach his final year. Well, the season did go poorly, and, as she was known to do, JG went back on her word and fired Jim despite what she promised Sam and Carl.
The Maniscalcos were angry and were determined to transfer. Carl knew Bruce Weber because of his connection with the Illinois Wolves program, and Bruce wanted Sam to play at Illinois.

And if I remember correctly, Bradley beat Illinois that year in the Las Vegas Invitational, with Sammy as our floor general. That probably weighed in as far as his attractiveness. Always liked Sam Man.

My understanding is today is the day.... and from what was shared, more than one post player is going to the portal.

Well, just look back and enjoy the year we have had this year. We will have to get used to seeing a lot of roster turnover, at least until we see a roster that has already transferred without penalty at least once. Stinks because I really enjoy the roster now and the players that have been here for a while. Its a tough environment out there right now. I think if I was Wardle I would be trying to acquire players that have already used their free transfer so there if a better chance they stick around long term. Idk.

I really hope not. He could be a big part of the Braves next season - he worked his tail off over the summer to make a big improvement.
Has had so many highlight dunks his Freshman and Jr. seasons.

Could be Biliew. I'd be very surprised if it's Hannah. He has some serious minutes ahead of him and the staff's focus on player development (especially post players) is really exceptional.
