Agree with this and I also think we're selling the coaching staff short if we don't think they can replace those who left with other good players. Maybe the whole process is crummy, but aside from this board, who really knew Malevy and what he'd really become before signing? What if Jonovic makes the massive jump like Hannah did this year? What if it really clicks for Hickman and he shoots 40% from three next year?

We can be negative if we want, but we also have to give our coaching staff a chance to replace guys with others and then see where things really land.

Exactly, there is no need to be negative, especially since we don't know what the team looks like. I was frustrated when TR left last year, but the staff did a pretty good job of reshaping the team.

GREAT POINTS! And I'll try to be more positive about our situation as the revolving portal turns the next few months!

Right but to add two players that started to that list is the disappointing thing. I just do not like the idea of having to re-recruit your players especially since they are not leaving because of playing time.

          • Iowa now among new schools targeting Rienk Mast

I have also heard Illinois is interested in Rienk, as is at least one other Big Ten school.

              • Rienk will be visiting the University of Iowa according to a source.
                Wisconsin also still interested.

                • More... Iowa is recruiting a number of big men, centers and forwards, in addition to Rienk Mast, and they have future visits scheduled with a few that they see as high priority targets. So I would be surprised if they push to get a commitment from Rienk this week.

Among their targets are reported to be -
BJ Mack, a 6'8", 245 lb strong forward from Wofford, who averaged 16.6 ppg and 5.6 rpg as a senior this past season. He has many offers, but announced his top 5 yesterday- Iowa, South Carolina, Arkansas, Alabama, and LSU. He has a visit to Iowa scheduled April 17-19, but also has visits to the other 4 schools lasting through the final weekend in April. He has one season of eligibility left.
Josh Cohen- 6'10" redshirt-senior forward from St. Francis of Pennsylvania. he averaged 21.8 ppg and 5.7 rpg this past season. He is reportedly visiting Iowa this weekend. He also has strong interest from Florida, Arkansas, Notre Dame, and Penn State and has future visits arranged with those schools. He has 2 years of eligibility left.
Jonathan Pierre- 6'9" sophomore wing forward at D2 Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. They just completed an undefeated Division II national championship season. Pierre is receiving interest from dozens of D1 schools, including Iowa. He averaged 14.4 ppg, and 5.2 rpg, and shot 40% from three. Iowa is trying to get a visit from him. He has 2 seasons of eligibility left.

                    • Maybe Reink will go to Iowa or Illinois and then travel to Wisconsin to absolutely shred them… exacting his revenge for what they did to Bradley. This is all an elaborate and righteous scheme to defend the hilltop.

I think you are on to something Dub.... In addition, he will make Wisconsin think he's interested in transferring there, only to dash their hopes by choosing Iowa.

                          • That was tweeted last night.... Hasn't happened yet.
I've heard Rienk has other schools who've asked him to hold off.

I really don't think Iowa is the best fit for Mast. I think his style of play is much better suited for Wisconsin or Nebraska.

Rienk now headed on another visit, with the Iowa offer. There were some who predicted he'd commit while at Iowa, but it did not happen.
He will visit Nebraska, and possibly one or two others (possibly Wisconsin, Michigan).
