Pretty much of a workmen's like game for BU tonight as they played well enough to get the job done. All 9 guys who played scored and 8 of them got a rebound and an assist. Rienk led the way with 18 points and 9 rebounds. We had 20 assists, 10 steals and just 10 turnovers. Darius Hannah had an all around good game with 5 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and congrats to JaShon Henry , who had 15 points, for making it to the 1,000 point club. We now find ourselves in the position that every team wants to be in, a chance to win the regular season championship. It's been way too long since we've had a chance like this. It won't be easy as Drake is playing evry bit as good as we are. In their last 10 games they averaging 74.5 points a game. In 6 of their last 7 games they've scored 82 or more. Their starting 5 (Roman Penn, Garrett Sturtz, D. J. Wilkins, Tucker DeVries and Darnell Broadie) is as good as anyone's and frankly they put it to us by 25 on January 14. DeVries had 28 and Penn had 7 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists but it was 2 reserves, (Conor Enright and Sardaar Calhoun), who were a combined 7-12 from 3 that helped put it to us. It's time for us to put it to them and win us a regular season championship and the #1 seed. LET'S FILL UP CARVER ARENA STUDENTS AND BU FANS OF ALL AGES! IT'S TIME TO GET ER DONE!

Bradley is on fire right now. Oozing confidence unlike I could have imagined earlier in the season.

        How stinking fun is this?
        Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

I'll eat crow now. I was really down on this team after Belmont and the ISU-R home game. They've proved me wrong. They've really come together on the court and have played some very good basketball. Sunday is going to be tough. But I believe we can and will win that game. See you at hopefully a sold out rocking Carver Arena. Section 102, Row 4. Let's go Braves!

To quote Da Coach ".....the last team to win 16 games was when the 1985-86 team, lead by Jim Les, Hersey Hawkins, Mike Williams, Anthony Manuel, Donald Powell, Jerry Thomas, Trevor Trimpe, Greg Jones, Len Bertolini, Bruce Mordini, etc., went 16-0 in the MVC and 32-3 overall...."

What a terrific sports year that was! Also, the Chicago Bears went 18-1 winning the Superbowl. My 2 favorite teams went 50-4. That was awesome.

Bradley is now 15-4 in the MVC. As noted above, the 15 wins is the second most MVC wins in Bradley history. With a win Sunday, this current team will tie that 1985-86 team for the most conference wins (16) in Bradley history. Of course, the teams play more games now, but this is still a significant milestone.

The final Player of the Week award goes to Lance Jones of SIU, and the final Newcomer of the Week award goes to Belmont's Ja'Kobi Gillispie-
This week's Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week is Lance Jones of Southern Illinois. Ja'Kobi Gillespie of Belmont is the MVC Newcomer of the Week.

So again, not a single Bradley player was awarded the POW all season, despite Bradley's championship team.
And as noted above, the only Bradley winner of Newcomer of the Week, was Duke Deen for the week ending December 27.

Yeah, cause why would winning the MVC Championship game in the last game of the season be a big deal? Not like it was a big game or anything.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.
