The MVC has had a postseason tournament yearly since 1977. From 1977-1990, the tournament was held at designated conference teams' home courts. Then, since 1991, the tournament has been held in St. Louis. In 1991 it was held in the old Kiel Auditorium, just before it permanently closed. In 1992-1994, it was held in the old St. Louis Arena (formerly the Checkerdome), before it permanently closed. And since 1995, it has been held at the current site, the Enterprise Center (formerly the Kiel Center, the Savvis Center, and the Scottrade Center).
Bradley won the tournament in 1980, 1988, 2019, and 2020. They were runner up in 1986, 1996, 2001, and 2006.
