I’m paraphrasing now….He said any win was a good win in the league, but that the Braves didn't well. Chad Klein made a comment to Coach Wardle about the way the team played in a particular stretch. I think it was related to expectations about consistent effort or focus?? Anyway, Coach Wardle perhaps took a slight offense to the comment. He made it very clear that he was a consistent coach and that is what players value. He said he was the same day in and day out on the bench or in the locker room.

Chad he worried that he had slightly offended the coach, but I do not think it was intentional or malicious. Chad made mention of it at least 2 times after Coach Wardle left the show. He said he hoped he hadn't offended the coach or something to that effect. You could tell it bothered Chad a little bit because he said he didn't mean it the way it was taken more than once. I do not think the interview ended badly.
I'm a Wardle fan, but when someone challenges or questions him, he can be a...let's say a little edgy. Media, analysts and fans should be able to question the Coach without fear of offense.

I'm with you. I am a Coach Wardle fan. From afar, I think he is very consistent. He lives and breathes Bradley BB as he should. It might be tough to hear what might be interpreted as criticism. There has to be a lot of frustration when the team could have played noticeably better.

Heck NC, you just described half of us on this forum!

        I'm including myself in that!

If it’s reference to this interview: https://omny.fm/shows/greg-dan-show-...ey-as-conferen

then I don’t believe the question was that bad and sort of trying to say Wardle pushes his players to make them better and his players are high character and can take it. I get that coach wants to clear up that he also supports them positively a lot, and given his history, that makes sense he doesn’t want that misinterpreted, but I thought both the question and answer were pretty standard. Many coaches are asked about yelling at a player when it’s caught on the sidelines.

In a high profile public job it’s expected to get tough questions. I didn’t hear the post game interview, but it sounds like he was still some what on edge from that morning interview, and that’s really what he was fired up about, which I thought that morning interview was fine from both ends. He probably just wants to make sure everyone knows he supports players positively too as to not have a bad perception out there that is unfair or untrue in his mind. He also has to remember his media history has been somewhat checkered perception wise and to not give more credence to that perception going forward either. It’s a tough job, but it’s comes with the territory.

Clearly nobody thought last night was our best offensive effort as a whole game, and defensively in the second half, but we still beat a decent team fairly comfortably. We do need to play better, but last night was not our worst game by far this year. We still kept turnovers under control.

You beat me to it on the response but I heard the post game as well and he definitely was annoyed about his perception that he has to explain himself and his methods to media all time. It was very innocuous by Klein and I think it was much more in response to what happened earlier versus anything Chad actually said. There was also a comment, which I actually thought was pretty funny/true, that Wardle basically said that the way that many parents raise their kids now (being their friend versus being a parent) is not going to prepare people as well for the future that he believes his love, but often tough love, works better.

I think the sentiment around the game is way more negative than the game I watched. We started out the game shooting around 90% from the floor and MSU was going to make a run. No, it wasn't the perfect performance but to be up double digits essentially the whole game against, at worst, a decent team is really pretty solid and that just doesn't happen by accident.

              Go Braves!

BU'S NET is a season best 62 this morning. The MVC is still at 15 being held down by the boat anchor Evansville Purple Aces.

How high do you think it would go if we won out?

Tommy, I agree with DaCoach that 50s is reasonable. But a win in Carbondale would be Q2 and the last Q2 win we had (InSu) moved us 7 or 8 spots. Best case with a win-out I'm saying high 40s. BTW a loss at SIU wouldn't be the end of the world NET-wise. The betting line for SIU will be interesting BTW. Pick-em or BU by 2?

I am no expert but just from following RPI's and NET's over the years.....
Note that after beating Missouri State (NET #144), Bradley's NET improved only 1 point, from #63 to #62. So it gets harder to improve as the NET gets better, and as we get later into the season.
And it depends on factors like how many teams ahead of Bradley lose or drop down, and the quality of each Bradley win as well as whether it was home or away.
But I would estimate that if Bradley can win their last 3 games, especially with 2 of them being road games and the other against the current #73 NET team Drake, Bradley's NET would improve to the mid-50's (55-57?).

In real time, listening to Chad and Coach - I believed Coach misunderstood what Chad was saying. I thought he was saying that players know how to listening “through the noise” ( yelling) and take the intended message to heart. Watching this team I have no doubt that it is a tight knit group that really enjoys each other and playing for Wardle
