Dean, Hannah (on D), and especially Hickman played poorly.
I hope Connor breaks out of his road funk. It’s hard to watch, and feel bad for the guy.
I do notice he’s off balance and very quick (tho he has a quick outside shot home & away) on his 3-pointers on the road.
I remember how deliberate DB Jr was in his long range shots. He didn’t even jump much and took his time. Was amazing how accurate he was and rarely got those blocked! I think Connor could benefit from not being so rushed in shooting…mostly outside but even in those floaters close to the hoop.

Then a bizarre sequence followed during the media break. Referee Gary Maxwell showed up at the Bradley huddle, tried to push his way into it toward Wardle -- who was standing in the middle, talking to his players -- and called a technical on Wardle.
Asked what happened, Wardle smiled slightly, and said: "It's a good team win, guys battled through adversity and a lot of it. They found a way to win. We're going to move on. It was an emotional competitive game, an intense game. That's what it's all about."

What the heck is that moron (Gary Maxwell) trying to do? I've seen thousands of college (and pro) basketball games, and I have never seen an official, during a timeout, try to muscle his way into a team's huddle like that. Then when he apparently is asked to butt out, he throws a hissy fit and gives Coach Wardle a technical foul. What for? Did Gary Maxwell get his feelings hurt that he wasn't allowed to call a play?
That idiot should never be allowed to officiate a game again in the MVC.

It definitely didn't happen, Kent was a non factor in the second half

He litterly followed Wardle into the huddle.
Wardle ignored him and then he pushed his way past asst coaches while Wardle was talking to his players. It looked like coach turned his head towards him and then Maxwell backed out of the huddle and called the technical.
He shouldn't be allowed to do another MVC game.
Some of the worse refs I've seen all year.
Both reams were way to fast for this officiating crew.

Actually Connor was part of the reason we won. Take away the shooting part but some great heads up play. Things you won't see on the scorebook but he caused several defensive deflections that players came up with and some great passes to help set up baskets.
sat right in front of Connor's dad and he mentioned that Coach moved Connor to the point just a week or 2 before the season started. Hasn't played point since grade school/JH years.
He is continuing to learn that position but it's the little things he does that don't show up on the stat sheet that makes him more valuable then we realize.

I hope there's a process for Bradley/Chris Reynolds to lodge a complaint with the MVC about Gary Marshall. He should never ref another Valley game, ever. I've seen better officiating in the 7th and 8th grade games I've watched this year.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought the referees were atrocious in this game. It is the first time all season where the refs seemed to want to make themselves the story - long stretches where there were fouls called on every possession, three technical fouls and lots of "hey look at me moments". That was the old Valley, I hope this is a one game anomaly because I'm not here to watch the ref show.

Resilient would be my one word this one. It's hard to play a full 40 minutes on the road and home teams will go on runs. But, unlike the Drake game, once we got down 10, we chipped away back at it after our scoring drought versus going down 20 and the game being over.
                Go Braves!

I could understand his actions if there was something he felt Coach should know but not while he was trying to talk to the team. The replay shows Coach had already sat down and started talking to the kids. That’s what makes it absolutely unacceptable to me.

I suspect, yet hard to determine from watching on TV... Wardle was upset about the 5th foul (that didn't look like much contact) from Deen just before this time-out. One of the comments from a fan at the game, references Wardle & the referee having a dialog before the Time-Out. As a lower-level (HS) official: We are trained NOT to provoke or follow a coach in a heated debate ("Defuse & Move-on") . No reason for the referee to follow the coach into the huddle... If you watch closely... The referee points at Wardle & then motions with his hand come out here... Wardle (with some guidance from staff) turns back to the huddle. No excuse for those actions (no matter what was said before)...

No excuse for Coach or the Ref to act the way they did? Not sure of your perspective?

Wardle cant talk about it..but we can..send this video to the MVC home office and ask why they allow this idiot to referee... Dave, as a journalist, should call the home office and ask the same question..That was uncalled for. I would not last long as a Coach..lol

Nice come-from-behind win for the Braves on the road. InSU must be in some kind of a funk as they started off the year strong, but, recently, they've given up such wins to visiting teams. SIU pulled off such a win as did NIU, which hadn't beaten anyone of significance up until they beat InSU.
My first BU hoops game was on 12/30/1963. My dad took me to watch the Braves defeat Arizona 67-59. He helped me get Coach Orsborn's autograph before the game.

I totally agree. When the game gets tight I want him out there. He is one of the smartest players I have seen play. I want someone out there that makes good decisions. He wont always make good decisions but generally he wont hurt you

4 of their conference wins have come against the bottom 4 teams in the league.
