  • I mentioned this in the jersey thread, but also thought it might be appropriate here when talking about building fans for the future:

I was thinking about the conversations centering around engaging young fans on this board. What if Bradley did a Peoria area jersey design contest using Underarmour's site every year for one alternate jersey that would be used at some point during the year. It could be open to kids up to 18 and whomever wins the contest would get a free jersey and their homeroom class would get free tickets to a game where Bradley would wear them (20-30 kids). This might make lifelong fans out of some kids in the area, and engage them in the product. They could even be introduced pregame, and the players could vote on and announce the winner on social media. There could be a vote on social media too to narrow it down to a couple. Kids love jerseys and such things. I don't know how feasible this is with tickets and jersey ordering (each year's contest might have to be for the following year), but I think it would be a good idea if so. The site is available for anyone to mess around with: https://underarmourteamuniforms.com/builder

I attached the examples I made in a few minutes tonight (I posted a few similar ones last year). It is easy to do.

    • Nice job, and great suggestions. I hope the people at Bradley look into doing something like that. I'm not sure the "experts" at Under Armour would want to take suggestions from amateur designers, but I like your designs and color alternatives better than some of what we've had in recent years.

Bradley actually does have 3 official team colors, similar to your alternative uniforms.
Bradley Braves Color Codes HTML Hex, RGB, PANTONE and CMYK Color Values for digital or print projects where you need to match a specific color and require the Bradley Braves Color Codes. Search for other teams and colors on Team Color Codes

When Bradley changed their logo in 2012, they apparently set definitions for the precise color codes to be used for the official team colors.
But in addition to "Bradley Red" and "White", there is a third official color- "Kaboom Gray".
So there no reason not to have an alternate uniform with the Kaboom Gray color!

      • With the last game of the season it looks like we found the answer to " What will make attendance better?"

IMO these are the answer to this question in order of importance:

        1. Be a winning team
        2. Lower ticket prices and give promotions through the community ($5 tickets are a great idea, need more of this)
        3. Play games that matter

I know a lot of people thought that Peoria has forgotten about Bradley basketball, but this Drake game shows that the interest is still there.

I couldn't agree more and I am so excited for tomorrow's game it's making me sick to my stomach!

          • I started this thread 6 weeks ago and we went from drawing 3,900 in a game to winning ten games in a row, taking a conference championship and drawing 10,458 people in the finale.

This, is why we love sports. It makes the improbable possible.
            Go Braves!

              • To answer the question:

I think attendance will improve if we can go on a 10 game win streak and win the conference championship at home.

                • Winning the Valley and getting in a post season tournament will help. But for a lot of people right now money is a little tight. $65 for a Bradley basketball ticket is a joke. This is Bradley not Duke. Cut ticket prices by 50% and keep the upper bowl tickets at $10.

$65 for a lower bowl ticket is pretty hard to stomach. $30 seems way more reasonable, but again, I don't know the historical prices. I paid $1 as a student and over the past 15+ years I just pick up upper bowl tickets on the cheap.

                    • I’ve talked to multiple people that received a text message yesterday, that if they put $50 down toward next year’s season tickets, they’d be able to keep this season’s price. Why would BU even think of raising ticket prices for next year? It makes more sense to keep prices where they’re at and increase revenue with increased sales. I don’t believe their civic center rate is based on attendance.

Does the cost of renting the Civic center go up every year?

If the city of Peoria is contributing dollars so that the PCC can expand their wish list of renovations, perhaps they could gently suggest that costs to Bradley should remain the same?

                          • No. Bradley has a 5 year contract with the Civic Center. I believe that one or possibly 2 years are left on the contract and the agreement of payment is fixed. Bradley receives no revenue from parking and concessions. I believe that Bradley has to pay for security.

Bradley and the Civic Center management renegotiate a contract every few years. It looks like the last contract was agreed on in November, 2020, just prior to the Covid year when no spectators were allowed for the entire 2020-21 season.-

I have no knowledge of the details, but I do not believe there is a built-in price rise each year. However, the terms and financial details probably do change with each new contract.

I'm sure there price increases year over year built into the contract, even if they are just designed to cover inflation. Most leases like this have at least a 2-3% year over year increase built in.
