UIC Head Coach Luke Yaklich has done a pretty good job, considering he lost his top 4 scorers from last year due to a combination of transferring and exhausting eligibility.

Nice game, did what we needed to at home. It’s going to be the road games that decide if we can win the regular season conference or not. Some tough road ones coming up, so we need to keep this defensive intensity.

Everyone played pretty well. Not a great three shooting night, and Connor seems to still be struggling a little, but he didn’t force it as much today. Leons could still stand to go towards contact more, but he’s a great defender. Mast did a nice job. Hannah continues to look back on the upswing lately, and Ville has found a way to contribute despite still not shooting the three super well. Hannah and Ville continue to be really nice players went the other team doesn’t match or beat their athleticism. Zek looked better today. Deen did better not forcing it today. Henry made nice contributions. Pop doesn’t seem to offer too much, but he does seem to run the offense well from the point. Thought Davis could get some more time up 40, but he still didn’t get in til the under four. It’s very unlikely there are no injuries the rest of the way and we still may need him. I don’t think sitting him completely is the right play.

Overall the star was the team defense to me. it wasn’t as though one player dominated, we just played great as a team. Keep that up as we will need it on the road!

So anyone remember the last time we played UIC? Quite possibly the worst one-sided officiating I've ever seen in my life, and that's saying something as I've seen some doozies. We lost that game even though we were by far the better squad, so this beat down was a nice payback for that debacle.

UIC really doesn't run an offense and playing man to man against a team they were clearly overmatched against just spelled disaster from the get go. UIC is typically one of the lowest NET ranked teams in D1 every year, so this isn't a huge surprise, but it's nice to see our team come out and do what they're supposed to do. Was a great all around effort, but I have to echo some of the others from this forum and wonder why Christian Davis isn't getting any minutes at all? Just seems odd for a kid that clearly can play on both ends of the court, at least from this novice perspective.

Was talking to Dub and wondering, if beating a team by 20 is D2ing them, and beating a team by 30 is D3ing them, what is beating them by 40? JCing them? Anytime you beat a D1 team by close to 40 points, you've done something special, so great job to the boys for an all out effort today.

Have a Happy New Year, BU forum family. Been a good year for us so far - can't remember the last time we started 10-5 as BW teams always finish better than they start, so I think good times are ahead for us. Let's get a road win against Murray St. this Wednesday and come back and get another dominant home win on Saturday. Hope you all have a great 2023!
