Just looked back and see that we went 10-5 to start the season in 2019-20, so that bodes well for our outlook this year!

The dark blue uniforms that UIC wore at Bradley today were apparently a first-time alternative color uniform for them.
They have worn 3 different color uniforms this season. Their usual home uniforms are white, with blue lettering and numbers trimmed in red. And their usual road uniforms are a light blue with red lettering and numbers.

But they also wore a red uniform in their game at Northwestern-

Today was the first time this season they wore the dark blue uniforms.

I would like to see BU make the unis from today our regular home unis.

If UIC can have multiple alternates I’m not sure why we can’t. I still like the sweet 16 ones from last year. I also still wouldn’t mind seeing a gray or black alternate. I’m not a huge light blue fan, but at least it adds some variety. The plain red and white with no accent colors is so boring to me.

Did anyone else experience the long lines at the ticket windows prior to the game?
I needed a couple extra tickets, and went to the ticket windows in the lobby at about 20 minutes before 1 pm. There were probably a couple hundred people there waiting in one of 4 long lines for the 4 ticket windows that were open. We stood there for about 15 minutes, and the line barely moved. There were a number of people who dropped out of the lines and just left, rather than keep waiting and end up missing part of the game.
I finally dropped out of the line and purchased 2 extra tickets online using my Ticketmaster app, but of course, it cost me extra money to pay for the excessive extra fees charged by Ticketmaster. But at least we got to our seats before the game started.

There was a promotion for today's game- free tickets for kids. So that helps explain the long lines. But they need to figure out a better way to manage that kind of thing.

So anyone remember the last time we played UIC? Quite possibly the worst one-sided officiating I've ever seen in my life, and that's saying something as I've seen some doozies. We lost that game even though we were by far the better squad, so this beat down was a nice payback for that debacle.

UIC really doesn't run an offense and playing man to man against a team they were clearly overmatched against just spelled disaster from the get go. UIC is typically one of the lowest NET ranked teams in D1 every year, so this isn't a huge surprise, but it's nice to see our team come out and do what they're supposed to do. Was a great all around effort, but I have to echo some of the others from this forum and wonder why Christian Davis isn't getting any minutes at all? Just seems odd for a kid that clearly can play on both ends of the court, at least from this novice perspective.

Was talking to Dub and wondering, if beating a team by 20 is D2ing them, and beating a team by 30 is D3ing them, what is beating them by 40? JCing them? Anytime you beat a D1 team by close to 40 points, you've done something special, so great job to the boys for an all out effort today.

Have a Happy New Year, BU forum family. Been a good year for us so far - can't remember the last time we started 10-5 as BW teams always finish better than they start, so I think good times are ahead for us. Let's get a road win against Murray St. this Wednesday and come back and get another dominant home win on Saturday. Hope you all have a great 2023!
Well said Tommy. I’ve just gotta say we need to learn how to win on the road to win a championship.Hopefully the coaches and players can figure that out and we can have a really special year. Happy New Year to everyone.

yes indeed. It was a trainwreck. If they truly want online ticket sales to rule the day, shouldn’t they be a buck or two less than window vs a few bucks MORE. Just saying

Nice crowd today. Bradley and the Civic Center need to have these promotions on a regular basis, if not every home game! I'm sure they brought in more money than previous games. The kids by us left their seats twice and each time came back with overpriced snacks and drinks.

I agree, more promotions would be nice. I also think they could drop ticket prices. Get more fans in the door with promotions and lower cost tickets, you could probably make up the difference and more with the concessions. I'm not sure if Bradley gets any revenue from the concessions though.

The atmosphere for games would be so much better with consistent 7-8K+ fans vs the usual 4-6K we seem to draw the last few years.

Give away tickets to kids for the foreseeable future and win games. Do that and when they stop, the kids will want to keep coming to see a good program. Absolutely zero reason not to do that with the current empty seats available.

I actually was in the line closest to the door, and it moved relatively quickly.
