          PJS article. Maybe already mentioned.

The Bradley men's basketball team is expecting the arrival of 7-foot-1, 260-pound center Ahmet Jonovic from Serbia to fill an open scholarship and roster spot.

The article by Dave Eminian suggests he is not yet at Bradley, though he will be "as early as this weekend".
As far as eligibility goes, he has to fulfill the same requirements all incoming Division I recruits have to meet. I'm guessing he has, or he probably wouldn't have been brought here. So if he clears the eligibility step, I think he could play immediately.

Be pretty tough to step off the plane Friday and play for a new D1 team in another country early Saturday afternoon. Hope to at least see him on the floor with the team.

Here are the stats for the pro team he has played on (OKK Beograd- he was playing as an amateur).-

His numbers were not impressive. However, his playing time was very limited. He was playing behind several other good big men on OKK Beograd.
6'11" Darko Balaban, a 33 year old, long-time pro center who was starting and averaging 12.0 ppg and 5.9 rpg, 6'11" Andrija Jelavic was averaging 32.9 minutes per game, 11.5 ppg, and a team-leading 9.3 rpg, and Boris Savovec, a 35 year old who averaged 11.0 ppg, and 3.8 rpg.
Plus, they have a couple other veteran 7-footers who were vying for playing time on the team.

In competition with the Serbian U19 National team, playing against opponents his own age, he had much better production-

It will be interesting to learn what Ahmet Jonovic's role will be on the current team. Has Bradley ever added a new scholarship athlete mid-season before? Would it be possible for him to red shirt?

Yes, he could redshirt, and a lot of mid-year enrollees do that, especially in football, so they have most of a year to condition with the team and learn the system and plays.
And Bradley did it once before in the 1983-83 season with a player named Ted Walker. It's not done often in basketball for obvious reasons.

This guy could really help us this year, so I'm sure hoping they don't redshirt him!

In today’s transfer portal NCAA: the new way of success is plug in pieces that improve today, (sadly) the days of developing a team & players for a successful stretch will be more challenging. If our new player could fill Ari’s role (this year) I think that would be a success (rebound, put back baskets & defend/be a presence in the middle)

Exactly. With the new rules, we have no idea what our team will look like next year, so we have to do all we can to bring success now.
