Good question. In order to attend a Chicago public school, a kid has to establish residency in the city. I don't know who Brown will be living with, but it's supposed to be a legitimate family or guardian. Recall that Adam Miller also transferred to Chicago (Morgan Park HS). Chicago allows open enrollment at most of their public schools, meaning that if residency is established, they can attend any eligible school that hasn't reached their maximum. They also have a few "selective enrollment" schools that can only be attended by being accepted.

Then he returned to Peoria HS last season as a junior (2022-23). Now he is transferring again and will play the 2023-24 season in Chicago at Class 3A powerhouse, Neal F. Simeon Academy.
Simeon returns a bunch of talent from their 2022-23 team that lost in the IHSA title game last March to Metamora, though they will have a new head coach as log-time coaching legend Robert Smith retired.

Bradley is recruiting 2025 E.J. Mosley- 6' guard at St. Laurence HS in Burbank, Illinois.
He averaged 14.3 ppg and 2.5 apg, and shot 43% from three as a sophomore at St. Laurence, and he has 741 points in his HS career, so far.

Most likely Jimmie is the one doing much of the work pursuing contacts in Wisconsin, especially now that Drew Adams and Brian Jones are gone. But, Mike Bargen also does a lot of the work scouting and evaluating recruits.

BTW.. this is according to a friend who talked to the family today. He grew up an Illinois fan. Underwood came to visit and offered immediately. He came back a week later and tried to close. The family decided to wait until after the summer season - more offers rolled in and eventually ND. The family is catholic. When ND came calling they were "stunned and ecstatic".

From Yahoo sports:
Certa, currently at Bloomington Central Catholic in Illinois, had nearly every prominent program in his home state after him. Illinois, Northwestern, Loyola Chicago, Bradley and Illinois State all made offers. He also received offers from Butler, Nebraska, Toledo and Penn State while Shrewsberry was there. The Irish were the last program to offer him, and that came after Shrewsberry went to the Irish.

I think he'll turn into a fine player at Notre Dame. The cost to attend Notre Dame is in excess of $80,000 per year (tuition alone is >$60,000) so he's getting a great education and a lot of value for his scholarship.
If, for some reason, it doesn't work out, I'd still love to see him at Bradley.
