Seems like a no-brainer choice, Cooper. You know you want to be a Brave!

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

His chances of playing more minutes are greater at Bradley.

FWIW-- we ought to be heavily pursuing a big, athletic post player who goes aggressively after rebounds.

a couple examples - altho obviously I don't know all the factors, whether they'd want to consider Bradley, or their academics, of
course that would be up to our staff, or whether better players are available in the portal.

This kid's best offer right now is Tennessee Tech (20ppg/11rpg) - LINK

another with only one DI offer, who is averaging 20 ppg & 11 rpg - LINK

and there are several more - hope we can land a couple. If you saw how McNeese dismantled Clemson, it was the size & athleticism up front. They decisively outrebounded (and 18 offensive rebounds) a much bigger team.

I think Bradley is going to have a good recruiting year

I agree with this 100%. I think we saw from Drake, and if you are an Illini fan from them, what having superior positional size can do.

                • Agree that we need big inside players with the knack of getting their fair share of rebounds. Reading from a previous post that Iowa has been in contact with Wardle. Do not know if this is true or not, but if it is will our current three recruits reconsider. And what about players who maybe have BU in mind. Upon hearing of a potential coaching change, will they no longer consider BU. Interesting times going forward to say the least.

                  • There should be no reason why Bradley can't find very good players in the Portal! We should be able to rebuild in one year!!! Look at All the teams that have done this after losing there entire roster! I keep thinking how Utah State is one that keeps getting to the NCAA tourney and we beat them! We should be able to compete for a Arch Madness crown next year and every year!!!! There are no more taking years to rebuild with the Portal! Plus to top it off, I just read an article stating that schools

                          • Haha... we can always have hope.
Bradley would love to have Lathan Sommerville, but he has not declared any interest yet in transferring. The portal officially opens Monday, March 24.

OTOH, Cooper Koch is planning on transferring, but he has not made any decisions yet. He will have a lot more offers, and probably some will be able to offer bigger NIL guarantees than Bradley. It's nice to see that Bradley is making a push for him.

we can hope that since Cooper Koch's father played several years of pro basketball and then for the past couple decades has been
a successful real estate agent - that just maybe Cooper's decision will be more about playing opportunities, being near family and not just money.

                              • I think we have a good chance of Cooper transferring to Bradley. Bradley would be a perfect fit for him. Cooper has a little brother playing basketball in grade school who is pretty good and his parents attend every game. It’s tuff for them to get to Iowa games and get back at a reasonable hour. It would be a lot easier for his family if he played closer. Cooper now has friends going to Bradley ( Zobs, Richardson) which he didn’t when he signed his very early NLI. I also think Lathan and Stowers end up at Bradley as well. Stowers has lots of family in this area who won’t be able to go see him play. Family, friends will win over the excitement of leaving town.
