    More on DePaul...

DePaul and their third-year head coach Tony Stubblefield started off their 2023-24 season on the wrong foot. They lost an $80,000 buy game at home last night to Purdue Fort Wayne (formerly IPFW) 82-74.
    Recap- https://gomastodons.com/news/2023/11...tory-at-depaul
    Box score- https://gomastodons.com/documents/2023/11/8/Box_Score_Purdue_Fort_Wayne_at_DePaul_08_November. pdf

DePaul finished 3-17 (10th place) in the Big East last season in Stubblefield's second season, and this season could be no better.
Purdue Fort Wayne is not exactly a mid-major powerhouse. They finished last season 9-11 in the Horizon League, which ranked 28th in conference RPI. And this season, they were picked 8th out of the 11 teams in the Horizon League preseason poll.
Purdue Fort Wayne has a couple players who played for MVC teams last year. Sophomore guard Jalen Jackson, who played at UIC last year, started and had 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists last night. And sophomore forward Maximus Nelson, who played at Valparaiso last season, had 6 points off the bench on 2-3 shooting from the 3-point line.
DePaul has 7 portal transfers from other Division I schools and 3 junior college transfers. One of the juco transfers is also a former MVC player. Keyondre Young played at Valparaiso 2 seasons ago, transferred to Triton College last year, and is now on the DePaul Roster. He did not play last night for DePaul.

It gives a little writeup on the recruits. However, it is the 5 offers still outstanding for next year and six offers for the year after that. It is all in one place and makes for easy reading. I imagine there are some offers that we have not heard about.

I'm not able to see the article because of the PJ Star paywall, but I am told the 11 names reported in the article are simply taken from the www.verbalcommits.com website for Bradley recruiting- https://verbalcommits.com/schools/bradley

Bradley is recruiting and has offered other high school, prep school, and junior college players, some of which we have reported in this thread.

It seems like he really wanted to stay close to home. Akron notwithstanding.

Sure sounds like Riddle’s recruitment was all about the NIL money. Get it while you can!

The other schools in his final 5 were-
Illinois State -11-21, and 6-14 in the MVC, and haven't had a winning season in 6 years, and haven't played in the NCAA Tournament since 1998
UIC - 12-20, and 4-16 in the MVC, and haven't had a winning season in 4 years. They haven't played in the NCAA Tournament in 20 years
Northern Illinois - 13-19, 9-9 in the MAC, and has had just 1 winning season in the last 17 years, and their last NCAA bid was 1996
And, Akron - the only team with any recent success. They were 22-11 and 13-5 in the MAC last year.

On an unofficial visit, the recruit and his family must pay for their own expenses to visit, but can make as many unofficial visits as they want. The recruit cannot participate in any on-campus official practices, or receive any perks or benefits, other than tickets to a game, so they could have attended, but not participated in something like the Red-White scrimmage. However, they can scrimmage in an "open gym" type of event, as long as the coaches aren't present.
    Here is one explanation- https://www.preps.thepodyum.com/post...sits-explained
