It seems as if our coaches are recruiting much more on a national basis now than the regional and international basis of their earlier years, even though Pettigrew, Ellis, Burch, Thomas and other recent recruits have regional roots. Les seemed to take this approach after the Sweet 16 run and struck out with no backup plan. I like that the current staff is going after some good national players while still bringing in quality regional kids. It seems as if this staff is positioning themselves through initial relationships formed to pickup good players like Ellis, Pettigrew and Thomas who later choose to enter the transfer portal. The True Gentleman is the man whose conduct proceeds from good will and an acute sense of propriety, and whose self-control is equal to all emergencies... - John Walter Wayland

I thought I had seen the same pattern you just mentioned. I have been hoping for better recruiting results than Les had gotten after the tournament. I am talking about overall results. I know that someone will say Les had good recruiting results however the downward trend in the MVC standings indicated something was lacking.
