I believe he would have to pass a basic English speaking test. I would not let that worry anybody, Most Europeans speak better English than we do

Hey Tommy… a couple of years ago ISU Red did have Dusan Mahorcic. He transferred to a school out west, was dismissed from that team and transferred again to NC State. If my memory serves me well, I believe Mahorcic was injured recently and not playing right now.

Well I’m really dying to know who it is and find out all about him. Didn’t ISU Red have a Serbian that lit us up last year that also transferred?
Dusan Mahorcic is the kid from Serbia you are thinking of. He attended Notre Dame College Prep in Niles, Illinois, then spent one season at Lewis University, and 1 season at Moberly junior college before landing at ISU in 2020-21, where he averaged 9.9 ppg and 7.2 rpg-
        https://goredbirds.com/sports/mens-b...-mahorcic/8189

He left ISU after the 2020-21 season and transferred to Utah, where he didn't play much. Then he transferred again this season, and is at North Carolina State. Unfortunately, after playing 10 games, he suffered a dislocated patella (kneecap) and required surgery. He is not expected to return this season.

        Career Stats- https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...dusan-mahorcic

And though he did have some good games while playing for ISU, his two games against Bradley were not very high scoring games. Here is his game log for the one season he spent at ISU. In the two games against Bradley he had 5 points, 4 rebounds and 8 points, 9 rebounds. Bradley won both games.
        https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...ball/year/2021

Some Bradley fans might remember that former BU center Jordan Prosser suffered a dislocated kneecap in Bradley's first game of the 2011 MVC Tournament, a win over Drake.
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Dyricus Simms-Edwards scored 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds, career highs in both categories, to lead Bradley to a 63-48 win over Drake in the opening round of the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament on Thursday night at the Scottrade Center.

If this new transfer enrolls for January Interim classes can he be eligible to play or does he have to wait until Spring classes begin?
I do not think we are talking about a "transfer" from another college. But even if it is, the NCAA has eliminated the rule requiring transfers to sit out, so he should be eligible right away, even during the break. I don't think he would have to take classes during the "January Interim". He'd just have to enroll for the 2nd semester.
And if this is not a transfer, but a new college enrollee, I don't see any reason he wouldn't be eligible as soon as he gets to Bradley and enrolls, as long as he meets the minimum NCAA eligibility requirements.

So will he be eligible? to make the trip to Belmont and able to play?

One mitigating factor if this guy is a true post-player, it shouldn't take long before he is comfortable in BUs offense. High screen-roll, pick-pop, high ball screens etc are relatively universal. Plus foundation stuff like rebounding and low block defense.

Don't know... We don't even know if or when he will get to Peoria. If he is here, it's possible he could be eligible.

Thanks BB and Coach - that is the guy I was thinking of and the 9 rebound game was the game that was stuck in my memory!

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

If he is a post player it wouldn’t be the worst game for him to miss. Belmont is very perimeter focused.

Players at NCAA schools can not transfer in the middle of their playing season and expect to be eligible at their new school.
They have to follow the NCAA rules on this.

To be eligible immediately they have to wait until the "notification-of-transfer window".
                      - Winter sports: a 60-day window beginning the day after championships selections are made in the sport.
They also must not have transferred before.
                      https://www.ncaa.com/news/ncaa/artic...transfer-rules

Maybe a slightly better explanation- https://www.ncsasports.org/recruitin...transfer-rules

                      ESPN explains it this way:
If a player enters the portal now, can he transfer midseason and play for his new team?
No. It isn't like a professional sports trade. Players would need to wait to be eligible until the following season.

The rules the NCAA has that are intended to apply to players transferring from one Division I school to another probably are not relevant here. From what I have heard, we are talking about a new college enrollee, and not a transfer.

New name- 2023 Trevell Adams- 5'11" Sophomore guard from Hocking College in Nelsonville, OH. Ohio. Hocking is a Division II junior college. He is originally from Columbus South HS. Trevell Adams is the leading scorer in D2 NJCAA. Through 13 games this season, he is averaging 25.0 ppg, a team-leading 7.5 rpg, and 2.8 apg. He is shooting 49.0% overall, and 44.0% from three. Last season as a freshman, he averaged 24.9 ppg, and lead his team to a 24-2 record.

Bradley has also been in contact with 2023 Almar Atlason- 18-year old 6'9" forward, originally from Iceland, and now playing at Sunrise Christian Academy, near Wichita, Kansas.
He has played for the Iceland National Team, and for a couple pro teams, KR Reykjavik in the Iceland pro league, and for an Italian Serie B team. He put up impressive numbers playing for the Iceland National team.
His videos remind me a little of Luuk va Bree, but appears stronger for an 18-year old.
