One reply says-
"My mom worked at velvet freeze main and university 1970ish. There was one on forest hill also"
I lived near Main and University in 1970, and I vaguely recall that there was a Velvet Freeze somewhere near there, but I don't know the exact location.
I do not recall it looking like that photo with the large ice cream cone on a pole.

I lived on N. University in the late 50’s and early 60’s, and worked at the record shop next to the Velvet Freeze on the corner of Main and University in the same building that Avanti’s just closed. Had a Wonder Dog with chili and mustard 3 or 4 times a week, with a Velvet Freeze ice cream cone for dessert. Those were truly the good old days!!
