Final score: Arkansas 76 Bradley 57

Not much to say. Bradley was dominated by a better, more athletic team.
Bradley shot 18-45 (40%), and was 4-15 (26.7%) from three, and 17-21 on FTs (81.0%). But Bradley ended with 27 turnovers to 11 for Arkansas.
Arkansas had 37 points off turnovers to 9 for Bradley.
Bradley outrebounded Arkansas 32-26, but the superior athleticism, size, and reach of Arkansas was more than Bradley could handle.

Bradley is now 7-4, and they play at home Monday against Stonehill.

Wardle used the word soft multiple times in post-game show. Lamented that when we play higher division opponents we play scared and soft (paraphrase).

Maybe a better word would be tentative because they may be somewhat intimidated. Big game against a major opponent on their court. I believe this will be a major learning experience for them

Hard to believe 2 stations carried Bradley basketball back in the day. Loved listening to Mort

I think this game will pay dividends down the road. We didn’t get blown out, tho a 19-pt loss is not ideal. Impressed with Arky’s defense - didn’t give Braves much space beyond the arc.

We won’t face a tougher opponent the rest of the regular season and won’t play in front of a larger crowd until late March, when we play in the Final 4.

Actually, there were a few years in the late 1960's and early 1979's, when 3 or 4 different radio stations in Peoria carried live, play-by-play broadcasts of Bradley games. WIRL 1290 (Mort Cantor) and WMBD 1470 (Mark Holtz) did all games, home and away for many years. And campus radio station WCBU (Jim O'Donnell) did just the home games for a few years.
Here is a clip from the 1973-73 media guide, showing that those 3 stations broadcast games that year.
And I think there were even a couple years in the late 1960's when WXCL 1350 AM (later known as WOAM) also broadcast games, though I don't recall who the broadcast voice was. Does anyone else remember those days?

I was at Bradley from 78-82, and wrote for the "Scout". At the time it was Mort and Dave, and I listened to Dave for all the road games (at RMF for the home ones). He graciously granted me an interview and while I have the story somewhere, it would take me hours to find. But two memories from that interview - 1) He likened Mort and he getting to cover the games to two Ferris Wheels and they were the only ones who got to ride them and 2) He said that if Miss America walked by us, he might not get the date, but he was certainly going to go talk to her and give it a shot.

That's awesome! I'll say neither guy was/is lacking personal confidence or passion for Braves basketball.

Haha! I hope so LittleBrave…Could have been way worse with that many turnovers

I was there the same time, bubraves82. Lived in the SAC and played in the pep band. After a home Bradley win, I would split my time going from one side of the bleachers to the other to see what each station/ broadcaster had to say about the game. They were both terrific. We were lucky to be there during that time.
