I live in Nashville and went to the Belmont vs MTSU game on Saturday. Belmont looks like a one man team. Sheppard is really good, and likely a first or second team all conference guy, but other than a couple of guys who occasionally make threes they really don't have much. Our frontcourt is really going to be a problem for them. They don't have anyone that can match up with Mast or Leons. Can't wait to see the Braves in person here on the 28th. I've been hoping for years that Belmont would join the Valley so I could see Bradley play in town.

It was actually a really fun game. MTSU went up three with 2.9 seconds to go and the people next to us left. Sheppard then nailed a three from about 25 feet to tie it at the horn. MTSU was just too athletic for them in overtime.

I was watching on ESPN+. I wondered why the MTSU coach didn't call for his players to foul and give Belmont 2 free throws, to prevent the game-tying three.
Yes, I know there are arguments for both sides of this topic. But Sheppard was something like 7-8 from three at that point.

He was telling them to foul. We were about 10 rows directly behind their bench and he was giving them the sign to foul. Not sure why they didn't because as you say Sheppard was on fire from three. Interestingly, he was only 5-15 from the free throw line.
