3 MVC games Friday, Nov. 18

Another disappointing day with the Valley going 1-2. Drake beat Buffalo 80-72 in the Paradise Jam.
Murray State knocked off #24 ranked Texas A&M yesterday in the Myrtle Beach Invitational, and today they lose to UMass. They will play Tulsa in the 3rd-4th place game at 9:30 am on Sunday.
And also in the Paradise Jam, Belmont loses to Tarleton State who is in just their 3rd season of Division I.

Another interesting score in the Myrtle Beach Invitational-
    Boise State 70 Loyola 48

I have been saying that Loyola is overrated. They are now 2-2 with one win in overtime against a weak Fairleigh Dickinson team, and a close win over UIC, which was picked 11th in the MVC. They have now been blown out by both teams they've played in the Myrtle Beach Invitational- Tulsa and Boise State. They are not a good shooting team. Their team 3-point shooting average is 23%, which ranks around 350th among D1 teams-

Loyola will play Texas A&M in the 7th-8th place game on Sunday.

This is the aftermath of fielding 2 consecutive teams with 22-25 year old starters, in large part because of covid extensions. Old mid-major teams win. If BU can get healthy, they fit that description.
