Not sure if I missed when season tickets can be picked up or are they available yet. Season begins next Wednesday and thought we'd have them by now.

Ticket/packet pick-up was an easy process. Bobby Parker was extremely helpful.

Stopped in RC today and there was a line for people wanting to have tickets printed out. I decided to use the digital tickets through Ticketmaster. The instructions provided work, but it is not as easy as getting Bulls, Blackhawks, or even concerts and events at the Civic Center on your phone. It is recommended that you then transfer the tickets to your Apple Wallet. I also picked up my Braves Club packet. For Braves Club members, that have access to the Braves Club (behind the Bradley basket where our team is seated), they now are keeping track of how many sodas and popcorn bags that you can access in a season. You are allowed 35 icons for popcorn and 35 icons for soda. You can use all the icons in the first game (give them all away to fans in your section) or spread them out during the season, as most people would utilize. This is to prevent unlimited soda and popcorn and "improve the game experience". Really!!!! How much money are they saving? The popcorn is not fresh popcorn and is delivered in giant bags. I think that it is made in New Jersey. I wonder, if I can ask to have more sodas in a season, if I do not use up all my popcorns icons. Maybe I can trade with another Braves Club member. The server at the popcorn and soda tables will have to mark off an icon on your credential card that you must provide. If anything, this will slow down the line. Marketing 101.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

The savings will be in the 5 figures. Bradley gets charged the same catering rates as any other person hosting a banquet at the Civic Center. Those bags of popcorn aren’t cheap. The cans of soda aren’t cheap.

I would like to do away with the freebies all together because it leads to more complaints than it’s worth.

I was talking to Craig Dahlquist years ago and if I recall, the popcorn was $85 a bag and the soft drinks were $3.50 per can.

Craig Dahlquist told me last year that the popcorn and soda bill for season for the Braves Club area would be close to $30,000. I'm all for the new rules as it will save them a boatload of money. I kinda chuckled when I got my Braves Club packet and saw that info. If I recall correctly, 2 popcorns and 2 sodas at the concession stand would cost me $13 a game. Multiply that by 17 games and I've just saved myself $221. What's bad business is that they only want a $250 donation to get into that area and are giving away $221 of that donation in snacks!
