  • New Bradley Assistant Coach- Brian Jones

Starting a new thread with this similar post from the Itoo Hall thread-

A source tells me that Bradley's newest assistant coach will be Brian Jones.
Brian Jones was an assistant coach under Dan Muller at ISU the last 3 seasons, and took over as Interim Head Coach late last season when Muller stepped down a couple weeks before the end of their season-

    Interim Head Coach job- https://goredbirds.com/news/2022/2/1...ead-coach.aspx

Brian Jones is 51 years old, a native of Rock Island, Illinois, and he played basketball at UNI (1990-1994). He has been an assistant coach at Nebraska-Omaha (now known as Omaha), at Southwest Missouri State (now known as Missouri State) under Steve Alford, and at Iowa, also under Alford. And he was head coach at the University of North Dakota from 2006-2019. Jimmie Foster was an assistant under Jones at North Dakota for one season before he eventually ended up as an assistant coach at Green Bay under Brian Wardle.
After Jones was let go by North Dakota in 2019, he was then hired by Dan Muller as an assistant coach at ISU from 2019-2022. Jones and Wardle have been acquaintances for a long time.

Can he recruit? Have to wonder if we lost any ground with Adams leaving?

Dave Eminian reports that in addition to confirming our report of the addition of Brian Jones to the coaching staff, Head Coach Brian Wardle has promoted Assistant Coaches Jimmie Foster and Mike Bargen to new the positions of Associate Head Coaches.-

Note that Jimmie Foster's name is misspelled in the article. It is Jimmie, not Jimmy.
Congratulations to Jimmie and Mike, as well as to Coach Jones, and to Drew Adams!

Edit: note that the spelling of Jimmie's name was corrected a couple hours after the original article was posted.

BU and ISU are recruiting the same kids in Central Illinois. I'm guessing Coach Jones has some recruiting rapport built up with some of these prospects.

I guess this is as good of a thread as any to put this, but anyone else concerned about the never-ending and massive turnover
of personnel in the Athletic Dept.? Practically every week someone else leaves and they hire someone new. And almost on
an everyday basis, if you call or request something, they tell you that position you need to speak to is vacant and they haven't been able to fill it.
And if you go to the Louisville Slugger complex, you see a lot of people who have left the BU Athletic Dept there.

Also - Happy Birthday Zek Montgomery

This is a great hire for sure. Welcome to BU Brian. Your gonna love it here .Been years since I officiated your games in HS but if Rocky puts out the great players they did when you were in school maybe you can steer them our way.
