I wonder if this will impact Ethan Kaizer's decision?
Pence chose ISU over offers from Belmont and Wake Forest. His girlfriend is going to ISU and his dad is an alum. Not sure how it will affect Ethan Kizer's recruitment.
But maybe he's a better fit at a mid-major.
Ty Pence's father and several other family members have attended ISU, so this was a foregone conclusion once he decided on a mid-major.
ISU is a possible landing spot for Kizer, too. The new ISU coach has reportedly offered Kizer, but he and Pence are similar players, so maybe things could change. Bradley coaches backed off both Pence and Kizer some time ago and have not been recruiting either for a while.

but that was a year ago and it is possible, maybe even likely, Illinois has moved on as they are aggressively recruiting at that position. Nobody really knows.
Bradley also, as you recall, may have only one open spot for next fall 2023, with Ja'Shon being the only open scholarship right now (this can change).
So I, too have heard that perhaps Bradley has drawn back a little and are focusing on an athletic big to replace Ja'Shon, Rienk and Malevy down the road.
Then Adam Duvall’s story in the Journal Star regarding Kizer’s recruitment last week was either incorrect or BU pulled the offer after the story was written. Certainly interviews are done and then the story may not be published for a bit, but it sure leads a reader to believe BU was still on him. No big deal, just making conversation.
I haven't read the PJ Star article (it's subscription only), so I don't know exactly what it said or where the info came from. But I was going by information I got directly from the most reliable source when I talked to him this past Thursday (7/28 ) and was told what I posted above, that the Bradley coaches are no longer recruiting Kizer.
Btw, I am not suggesting that Kizer isn't a solid D1 prospect, nor is that the opinion of anyone at Bradley.
The all-Mid-Illini Conference firstteamer is excited two universities close to home — Bradley and ISU — are in the mix.
The 6-foot-6 all-state guard has at least seven mid-majors vying for his services: Bradley, Illinois State, Southeast Missouri State, Illinois-Chicago, Morehead State, Toledo and Eastern Illinois.
Sorry for the confusion. Thanks for bringing us up to date!
