And, there are many reasons why no new conferences, especially mid-majors, have formed in many years, so that's not going to happen. Does anyone want to see Bradley in the A-10? I'm not sure the A-10 would want BU, nor would it be a good decision for Bradley. The MVC is a viable basketball conference, and IMO, Bradley needs to stay put, and work to make the MVC better.
By the way, has anyone noticed what happened in the Mountain West with basketball this year? The Mountain West has been similar to the MVC in many ways, other than the fact they have legitimate football. They have usually gotten just 1 or 2 NCAAT bids. But this year, they have 6 teams in the top 40 NET, and could get 5 or 6 teams in the NCAA Tournament. Some are saying they "cracked the code" of the NET formula. That is what was said about the Missouri Valley and the RPI in 2006 when they got 4 teams (should have been 5) in the NCAA Tournament. The MVC should be able get more than 1 team in the tournament. The big differences are that the MWC teams are all bigger, better funded state schools (except AFA which is why they can usually be found at the bottom) and that when they added teams, they added high quality teams like San Diego State, Boise State, Nevada, and Utah State.
