Welcome to the BU family, Goanar! Looks like you know how to finish at the rim and that FG% is sick! Looking forward to seeing that at Carver!

    Now 124, about those numbers…

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

        Is his name pronounced gunner?

I was reading a bit about his little brother. I can pronounce his name no doubt, it’s the same as the city he was born in lol. They are first generation Americans, their mom is from South Sudan. There are 6 sons and 3 daughters in the family. Goanar is the only one who played college ball despite all the brothers being 6’6”-6’8”. It’s interesting to note in Goanar’s tweet announcing the offer from Bradley he included a picture of Ari Boya. Bradley having had a player from South Sudan might have helped in recruiting Goanar.
        Gotta stop feeding the trolls.

              Article from BradleyBraves.com
The Bradley men's basketball team signed 6-foot-8 forward Goanar Biliew (Denison, Iowa) on Saturday, completing the Braves recruiting class for the 2022-23 season.

Looking at the scholarship grid we don't have any freshmen on it. Davis, Weathers, Hickman, Ekono, Montgomery, Deen and Billew are sophomores. Mast, Leons, Hannah and Linke are juniors. Ville is a senior and Henry is a Covid senior. Can't remember the last time that happened.

That kind of disparity on the roster is now easier to balance in future years with the transfer portal, and now that Coach Wardle seems to be OK with junior college recruits.

The biggest loser in the whole transfer portal is high school kids. You pretty much have to be a top 150 to get a scholarship offer now with teams reloading every year with proven D1 players .....very sad IMO

Yes. High school kids need to be willing to accept D2 offers, play well, then they can move up via the transfer portal. Another option they need to be more open to is the juco or prep school route.

He looks very athletic, and has decent fundamentals for a post player.
Here are his stats from this past season (2021-22)-

Goanar Biliew wore #22 at Des Moines CC, but Ja'Shon Henry is #22 for Bradley.
Seems to dunk a lot. Definite plus in my book.
                            Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

With the four players Bradley has signed, next year’s team should be an improvement over this year’s team. We can now concentrate on getting more fans to return to Carver Arena. Are Ville and JaShon the only seniors we will have next year? If so, we could be looking at two pretty good years.

Ville and Ja'Shon are not in the same class. Ville is a true senior, and 2022-23 will be his 4th year. But, because he played in 2020-21, he would have the option to return for a 5th year in 2023-24 as a grad-student for his extra "Covid" year.
Ja'Shon was a true senior last season and will be playing in his 5th season in 2022-23. If Ville decides to return for his Covid year in 2023-24, then Ja'Shon could be the only player the team loses after this year.
