Free market works if you give it time. Let the big boys run up the price for the best recruits with each other. Half of them will not turn out as good as they were expecting anyway.
Mid-majors have always been at a disadvantage and that hasn't changed. My biggest concern is that I'll be rooting for an entirely new team every year, but this being the first year, I suspect it'll be the worst, and so far at least, we've only lost 2 players to the transfer portal. Now that mid-majors know this is how the rules work, they'll adjust their recruiting and hopefully find kids that are interested in sticking around. In a world of 8 billion people, there should be enough talent to go around and if the Tampa Bay Rays taught us anything it's that smart decisions can help you be successful without spending big time money. Let's just hope we've got some savvy guys making those decisions at BU.
