  • Jason Kent Transfer

I assume Jason is seeking more playing time. He'll be missed as I believe he still has upside.

That is too bad. I honestly thought with the progression he has made, that this next season he would have been a key piece.

I agree. It'll be interesting to see the level of Interest he gets. Would Loyola be in play?

Good luck to Jayson and his family. They came to most games and I had the privilege of meeting them. Jayson is a great kid and I hope he finds the right place for him to enjoy his college career and get more playing time.

Yes, he had a pretty good sophomore season, but we'll be alright.
Will give Zeke more P.T. who I think has a bit more upside.

Kent shot poorly from 3-pt land (not much above 25%), but he did have ability to drive and score.
He will probably get more PT elsewhere and I don't blame him.

          GL to Jayson.

I'd be surprised if we didn't hear of 1 or 2 more leaving.
Hannah would be my guess, but I don't have any inside info.

Agreed. The obvious candidates would be Linke, Hannah and Ekono (though Max stands to get more PT this year.) Kent's transfer makes Ethan Kizer's recruitment seem more of a priority.

Wow.....didn't see this coming. Wish Jason well in his upcoming future. Have to admit I was very disappointed in his 3 pt shot last season as he missed many wide open looks.

I'm like 99% sure they pulled the offer from Kaiser. If they didn't they should. He ain't any good. This is a bit surprising considering he started a lot of games but oh well. I wasn't a big fan of his anyways

He struggled with turnovers and shooting but still contributed with his length and defense. I thought he could have continued to develop. Sorry to see him go and best of luck.

Kent is a big loss. He was a starter before the wrist injury and he had some tremendous games for us. Mikovio's comments were dead on, so not much to add to that.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

Ethan Kizer is class of 2023 so Kent leaving doesn’t affect Kizers recruiting status. For what it’s worth I think he looks like a but of a project needing a redshirt year to play in the valley but not terrible.

Kent leaving sucks. I always felt more confident in his jumper than the results bared out. Hell of an athlete and competitive, versatile defender although he did have a propensity for fouls. Always played hard, I would have had him penciled in to start next year so I’m kind of surprised he wants to go somewhere with a more guaranteed role. Makes me suspect coach has a different opinion than me. Good luck to him.
                      Gotta stop feeding the trolls.

I am not sure that's true

Kent had a lot of pressure from many to excel. He had great improvement from Frosh->Soph, yet some didn't believe it was enough... my understanding is that "pressure" was impacting/distracting the team. My belief is his talents will develop (somewhere else), sometimes a change is good(for a player)... sometimes a team will grow through subtraction. He filled a role that will need to be replaced... hopefully there is some growth from within AND adding driving/shooting/defending talent will replace the loss. Best to Kent

We really can’t afford that much turnover. If that’s the case, something is very wrong.

We had a lot of turnover after last season, and I think the team was far better off and much improved because of it.

For the record, I am not comparing the reason for Jayson Kent leaving with last year's transfers. But if our coaches recruit as well as they did last year, we'll be ok.
