This isn't paying players so they can take advantage off their likeness. It is a covert way to pay a player just to play at the school. Thats like paying a salary to him just to play. NIL will be a way for schools to pay players to play... Example: a local car dealership could buy a 1000 jerseys with a players name and then donate them to a local grade school. Wah-lahhh.... now the car dealership has in essence given money to a player to play. The player doesn't have to "work" at the dealership nor does the dealership have to loan a car to the player. This is here to stay, unfortunately. And unfortunately schools who refuse to "play the game" so to speak will watch their basketball programs fall further down the line. Its kind of sad to watch. Overall and not just in the NCAA its like everyone and everything is trying to sell its soul for an extra buck.Comment

It needs to come from the bigger corporate supporters, and not many mid-major schools have many of those kinds of supporters.
Last summer, Bradley and the MVC partnered with a company named INFLCR to help maximize opportunities for our athletes to cash in on NIL deals.

But that was the last I heard of this company, and I don't know if anything is happening at Bradley.
There are the big-time programs like Kentucky where even the walk-ons are getting paid for NIL deals.
That could be a pretty strong recruiting advantage.Comment
