  • What happened to the credit for the cancelled Bellarmine game tickets?

Bellarmine (who Bradley was scheduled to play but cancelled due to Covid in our personnel) defeated Jacksonville in the finals of the Asun tournament, but they do not go to The NCAA tourney because they only transitioned to Division I 2 years ago. There is a four year wait before you can go to the tournament. As a result Jacksonville State goes to NCAA because they won the regular season even though they lost in the semis of the tourney.

Yes, Bellarmine made the jump from Division II and joined the ASUN Conference 2 years ago. Last year they finished 10-3 in the ASUN, 1 game behind the regular season champion, Liberty. This year, they finished 20-13, 11-5 and in 2nd place in the expanded ASUN West Division, and as houstonbrave mentioned, they proceeded to win the ASUN Tournament.-

That is an amazing start in D1 for Bellarmine. Too bad the game at Bradley was cancelled.

By the way, since Bradley cancelled the December 29 home game against Bellarmine, are there any other season ticket holders who never exchanged their Bellarmine tickets for additional tickets to future home games? If so, let me hear from you.
That was the only option the Bradley ticket office gave to ticket buyers. However, like others I have heard from, I never exchanged my tickets, and it seems people who didn't should still have a credit in their ticket accounts. However, no credit shows in my digital account
Not that I need the money, but I am currently trying to get an answer from the Bradley ticket office about what happened in the case of ticket buyers who never used their credit. Will that credit be refunded? Can it be applied toward next year's ticket purchase? It does not seem that ticket buyers should simply lose that money. I'll try to post an update with what I find.

I did not exchange those tickets. Forgot it was an option and threw them away before the chance came up.

I had tickets and live out of state. Credit is not a good option as may not be back for another 4 years let alone during the season. They should refund. My ticket master account said it would be refunded but I forgot to check. Need to check.

I emailed the ticket office yesterday about what season ticket holders' options are, since most of us did not need to use the credit to buy additional tickets (since we already had tickets to every game). It seems there should still be a credit in our accounts that should be refunded or which could be used toward next year's tickets. But, my ticket portal account does not show any credit, and I suspect nobody else's does, either. So it appears that credit from the cancelled game has been taken by Bradley.
I still have not gotten a reply.

I have heard from several others who want to know about this. And if anyone else is interested in knowing what happened, I would urge you to email the ticket office, too. Maybe we'll get an answer.
Otherwise, you will have just made a non-deductible "donation" to Bradley, which you did not agree to.
FTR, I am a BU donor and season ticket buyer since 1978, so this isn't about the small cost of a couple unused tickets.

I already tried emailing: BradleyTicketOffice@bradley.edu (I have not gotten a reply, so I suspect nobody monitors this account regularly)

So, I would suggest emailing Bradley's Ticket Manager, T.J. Christie: tchristie@bradley.edu (I just tried emailing T.J. directly)
                or
Chris Reynolds' administrative assistant Karla Bothast- kbothast@bradley.edu

I did get a response from the ticket office and from T.J. Christie, which I do appreciate. I am told the the only option Bradley was offering was to exchange the cancelled tickets for tickets to another game. If a ticket holder did not need additional tickets, they are out if luck. They are not willing to offer any other options to return the money to the fans.
I don't know whose decision this was to simply confiscate fans' money for a game they cancelled, but I am not satisfied with that decision.
If there are other fans who agree, I urge you to let the Bradley ticket office and the AD's office hear from you. (See email addresses above)
IMO, this is not the right way to treat loyal fans, and further erodes my confidence in some leadership and decision making. With Bradley's fan base shrinking and fans departing, I would have preferred to see a more fan-friendly solution.

Did you guys send in extra for those seasons that had 17 games in the season ticket package?

Yeah, right... Actually fans paid for exactly what they got, which is how anyone should do business.

My ticket portal (and I suspect everyone else's) showed a separate charge for each pair of home game tickets that were part of the season ticket package. So the season ticket price was based on that per game-charge, multiplied by the number of games played this year.
And, there was a credit given for the one game not played, and could have been used to buy extra tickets. But when the season ended, the credit was confiscated.
It's not as if anyone is asking for a refund for a game they chose not to attend. The game was cancelled by Bradley. There is a right way to deal with the fans, and that isn't happening. Sorry if that isn't clear.

Using your logic, none of us should have gotten refunds for last season when they prohibited fans at all the games, right? But they did the right thing, then.
The right thing to do this year would have been the exact same thing as last year- offer a refund, allow buyers to donate the money (which I did last year and would have done this year), or allow credit toward next year's season tickets.

We paid what they charged, and season ticket holders pay more every year to keep their seats.
So to answer your question, yes we paid extra.

For a variety of reasons, overall customer service level was way down this year at the BU ticket office compared to previous seasons. I believe any of the staff associated with it would agree. This ticket refund issue is only one of the more minor examples in my opinion.

If they need more clarification on that, they should reach out with a survey or phone call. I’d be happy to provide my feedback if they would like it.

Lets hope the leadership has a plan to right the ship this off season and return to excellence in how they serve the fan base. I fully expect they will.
