Both teams have woken up. Red had made 4 straight 3’s after falling behind by 10 and Blue made a few too as it’s now 49-48 Red with 5:30 left

One thing that is noticeable watching this ILSU-INSU game, not a single person in the crowd is wearing a mask.
The people at the scorer's table are wearing masks, but nobody else.
The Enterprise Center must not be enforcing the masks any more, despite their website showing that "Masks are required for all fans over the age of five".

Illinois State trailed most of the way, but pulled ahead in the last few minutes and held on to win 58-53-

Both teams shot somewhat poorly in the first half, but Indiana State was just 8-24 overall in the 2nd half, and 3-15 from three.
Illinois State shot 12-23 overall and 4-8 from three in the 2nd half to win. So Illinois State advances to play UNI at noon tomorrow.

As far as I could see they only thing being enforced was when you entered. They asked for you id and vaccination card. Didn’t see anyone telling you to put on a mask inside the arena.

Valpo and Evansville to tip off. Valpo won back to back games a few weeks ago, by 16 in Evansville and by 5 at Valpo. The Purple Aces have lost 7 in a row and 9 of their last 10 while Valpo have lost 8 of their last 10 so whoever can execute down the stretch should win. If the first game between the ISU’s is any indication their will be physical play allowed in the tournament so you better be smart and strong with the ball.

Watching the Evansville-Valpo game now, and again, I do not see a single spectator with a mask. It is a beautiful thing.

Valpo leads Evansville 43-32 at the half. Valpo on fire as they were 15-25 overall and 7-11 from 3. The Purple Aces were 12-27 overall and 4-10 from 3. Once again neither team made it to the bonus as there were just 10 fouls called.

Is there a lot of bad blood between Valpo and Evansville ? At the end of the game Evansville turned and walked to the locker room-no handshakes, no waves that I saw. It looked like Lottich was standing there waving at nobody as Evansville turned and walked away.

Didn’t read all the comments so this may have already been stated but Muller was sitting next to Dana Ford at the ISU game.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

Blues just posted a revised safety policy starting Sunday. Too late for arch madness. Lifting masks and proof of vaccination, etc.

Well of course they are, COVID doesn’t spread after Saturday. It’s science baby!

I made the local news and had a chance to share my opinion on the COVID rules.

                            That's great, Tommy!

That article also interviewed fans from Iowa, who pointed out that nobody in Iowa has had mask mandates for a long time, compared with St. Louis which has had strictly enforced mask mandates for virtually the entire pandemic..
So I checked the New Covid Case numbers for the city of Des Moines Iowa vs. the city of St. Louis over the entire pandemic. The two cities are somewhat comparable in population (Des Moines 215,000 vs. St. Louis 300,000).
By no means am I suggesting this is a scientific comparison or conclusion. But at its recent Omicron peak, Des Moines was seeing only about 40 new cases per day, while St. Louis was seeing over 700 cases per day. And throughout the pandemic, St. Louis' new case numbers have been many multiples of those in Des Moines.
So maybe Tommy has this right. Like many studies have shown, as far as I can see with these numbers, the strictly enforced mask mandates in St. Louis do not appear to have had much, if any benefit.

                            Des Moines-

                            And for St. Louis-

At least in TX, it hit certain races harder than others and usually in the poorer urban areas. I don't know the demographics two areas being compared. This could have an effect on the numbers.

This is not meant to be a racist comment in any way but the news as reported.
