I agree Tommy, that would be the way to send the Ramblers packing. This is the most wide open tournament that I can remember. Anyone of the top 6 can wind this tournament and any team but, probably, Evansville could pull off an upset in any one of the games. Both ISU's have either beaten or played neck and neck with at least 2 of the top teams and, I believe, Valpo has hung tough with some of the top 6 teams and even beat Northern Iowa.
This should be a fun tournament and some outstanding games.
Let's all be there Sunday afternoon to celebrate when we go dancing again. Already looking forward to watching this team the next 2 years and beyond..

You'd think the MVC or the Bradley website would post the team section info, but they don't.
I can find any mention of Arch Madness individual game tickets anywhere on the Bradley website.

nice! I blindly bought seats in Section 114 last night. We’re good.

People who purchased all session tickets through Bradley will be sent them via the e-mail address they have on file with the ticket office by 8:00 PM Monday. People must have a registered Enterprise Center Ticketmaster account with that e-mail on file. You'll be prompted to do so if you don't have one. Once you're registered you'll be able to access your tickets via the GO Braves App or the Arch Madness App.

Finally got a response from the Enterprise Center regarding their rules on COVID:

Thanks for reaching out and I hope this answers your question. We do not offer religious exemptions to our policy. Our current policy is vaccine or a test. We would accept a saliva test as an alternative to a nasal swab test. Also, any person with a test taken after 1pm on Thursday 3/6 would only have to test once for the weekend, as 72hrs from that time would get them in for the 1pm game on Sunday.

Think it's preposterous that private companies are allowed to do this. What's next, test us for STD's and the flu? Ah well, don't mind me, I'm just an American that remembers the country before 'public safety' became synonymous with 'the government and private industry can collude to do whatever they want'. And before you ask me why I'm so upset, ask yourself at what point is it an infringement on your personal liberties (a word that means nothing anymore)? Because the more we acquiesce, the more they will continue to force things down our throat until we can only go where they want when they want and do what they want us to do.

Yes, I am not happy about this at all.

Exactly a private company on private property. They can ask you to do whatever. In there mind you don't have to go if you don't like it. It's not a problem however if you are vaccinated I don't believe you have to test before right?

Therein lies the problem, they have no right to that information or to even ask for it. And if you don't agree with that, then I would ask how is it not discrimination against the unvaccinated to force them to provide something the vaccinated don't? Last I heard, being vaccinated doesn't prevent someone from catching or passing on COVID.

Either way, the 4th amendment still exists, and we have a certain right to privacy. If it doesn't extend to this, I don't know what the heck it applies to then. If they can do this, what can't they demand? Make us wear hijabs? Test us for STD's? Shave our heads? Is there anything not allowed by our constitution or can private companies do whatever they want with no regard?

I don't know this for fact but yes they could ask you to do anything. It's their loss if they ask ridiculous things of people like what you mentioned and they don't come because of it. You don't have to test or get vaccinated. You can keep that private all you want. But they can require anything they want as well.

There’s a group of 5 of us that will not be attending due to the extreme Covid policies they are enforcing. It’s a shame. I’m not happy. But hopefully next year will be different. I suspect the attendance will be down for this tournament. I know it won’t be as many there as could be.

Totally understand. If they are still doing this next year, I’ll be out as well.

I don't know what's so extreme about taking 1 COVID test. They didn't ask for one every day. I'm sure there will still be plenty of Bradley fans there. If not I'll have to be louder to make up for it.

It could be extreme if a person doesn't have insurance to cover the cost of the Covid test.

The Enterprise Center policy is either proof of vaccination or:
                        • A printed or digital negative COVID-19 PCR or rapid test administered by a healthcare professional with 72 hours to a guest’s given event that includes the guest’s name and date the last test was administered.
That means a home test ($29-$39 per home test kit) will not be accepted, and the test must be administered by a healthcare professional. People in my family who have visited a medical clinic and had a Covid test done have paid $100 for the test, plus another $100-$200 for the clinic visit. Insurance covered it for us, but not everyone has insurance, and some that do are still on the hook for co-pays or deductibles.
The pharmacies say they offer "Free Covid testing", but the tests are not really free. They are free to the patient only if they have insurance or Medicare which will cover it. But if you don't have good insurance, or if you have not already met your deductible, it could still set you back $40-$50 or more.
And there are occasional false negatives and false positives with any of these tests, which could end up causing someone to be denied entry to an event, or to have to get another test to confirm or rule out.
We are now dealing with a variant (Omicron) that is about as dangerous as the common cold, and is disappearing rapidly anyway. The majority of states, local authorities, and venues have now cut back on their their mask and vaccine restrictions, and many never had requirements as strict as the Enterprise Center. (example: has anyone been asked for proof of vaccination or Covid test at the Peoria Civic Center?).
The main reason they still have such restrictions is because the powers in St. Louis are reluctant to back off wielding their authority over the public.
And without stretching my opinions out too much more, the "science" has never shown that such restrictions did much good anyway. We know that even vaccinated people are capable of spreading Covid, and in many places, more new cases are in vaccinated people than in unvaccinated people.
And we know that states and localities that had little or no restrictions did not have any worse Covid problems than those that had more draconian restrictions.

Most reported U.S. Omicron cases have hit the fully vaccinated -CDC
                        https://www.reuters.com/world/us/mos...dc-2021-12-10/

The CDC has much more data about the ineffectiveness of vaccines, and how they have failed to slow the spread, but refuses to release it because by their own admission, they are afraid the "stupid public" will misinterpret it and get the impression that the vaccine isn't as effective as they have been telling us all along (which it isn't).
So, yes, I would call their Covid policy extreme.

By the way, if anyone is planning on attending the Women's MVC Tournament the following weekend in the Tax Slayer Center in Moline, they have not had any mask, distancing, or vaccination requirements since they reopened to spectators last June-

To Cousins’ point, it’s likely legal for a private company to require this. To Tommy’s point, it is intrusive and preposterous. To coach’s point, it’s ineffective.

For people who feel strongly about Bradley hoops, vaccine autonomy, and medical privacy the problem becomes this:

The only way to make your opinion truly heard is to boycott Arch Madness and deprive yourself of your favorite thing in life. And so regardless of the decision you make, you’ve been forced to compromise on something you’re passionate about.

It’s a terrible position they have put people in.
I’m really sorry this is still plaguing our society.
                          Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

Take a test… wear your your mask… show your card…. Perhaps not extreme for someone who will do anything anybody tells them to. This is why these “mandates” exist and will never go away. I’m not paying good money to be controlled and told what to do to watch a basketball game. I’m not going to encourage such behavior. But to each his own.
