A hint regarding Henry - last game Dave Snell mentioned the Seniors who will be honored tonight. Henry was not mentioned. If we do not see Henry with the other seniors - then that at least leaves the "return next season" option open.

Question for Da Coach. Is a concussion curable? If you get a concussion is it with you forever or does your body heal itself from it?

Every concussion is different, and every individual who gets a concussion responds differently. Plus, there aren't any really good long-term studies that follow people out for decades or the rest of their lives. Most studies are short term.
Most concussions do seem to recover and get back to what appears to be normal, especially the mild concussions. But it takes time and even in those cases, the injury involved could show symptoms many years later like we read about with athletes who develop CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy). That seems to happen mostly in athletes who get repeated or severe concussions. That's why we take more caution about allowing athletes to return too quickly.
Here is a site with good info about concussions, and pages 10 & 11 address your question.

And this site is more specifically about athletes-

The game tonight really has very little meaning, since both Bradley and Valparaiso are locked into the #5 and #7 seeds. And it would be nice to see Ja'Shon be in uniform, even if he's not ready to play.

Here is more insight into Coach Wardle's starting five today, and Ja'Shon Henry's decision about possibly coming back to Bradley next year from Bradley Scout Editor Larry Larson

Wardle says he’ll start all the seniors (Burger, Boya, Howell) with the exception of Henry

Henry.... is not cleared to play.... is now cleared to shoot and take part in a few more activities.... it’s highly unlikely he’ll play in the postseason.... told me he plans to make a decision regarding his future in basketball in the next month or two.
He said if he plays next season, it wouldn’t be anywhere but Bradley.

How can you not love this guy!

I sure hope he opts to come back (and Ari too!).

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

If we do get both Henry and Boya back I still think we need a couple of rides to open somewhere. We need at least three players:

                    1. A shooter. If this team wants to be elite next year they need a wing who can reliably shoot/score. Maybe it’s Hick, but one more wouldn’t hurt either. I see Hick as more of an overall glue guy than a pure shooter.

                    2. A point guard who has good ball handling skills (even if Max takes a big step next year)

                    3. A big. Should Mast and/Leons decide to leave after next year (both would be in their fourth year of college) we have no bigs. Hannah and/or Linke taking the steps to be a starter on a contender seems pretty iffy at this point, so we need to start developing the next big, since Valley bigs usually take some time.

I also believe Henry needs to play the four if he comes back. Him being a three was not good for our offensive flow and doesn’t fit the rest of the team’s style. For all he brings, he is not a great passer and his strength is down low (which makes the concussion situation even more iffy).

Was tonight a nod to Henry not coming back? I hope not!

I'm hearing that he is considering coming back. Hasn't decided yet.

I believe his girlfriend is underclass, and that might help.
That would make me very happy!

We had a granddaughter that got hit in the head with a spiked volleyball during a practice and ended up getting very dizzy. It was determined that she had a major concussion and that was her freshman year of HS. She missed 5-6 weeks of school, no watching TV and only a very limited amount on her IPAD and that was to do homework when she could. Her VB and BB playing days were over and 6 years later there are times when it still bothers her.
I stated all that to say we might not have any idea how much contact JH can ever take again.
Last night was a class act by the Valpo coach. After the fracas last weekend in WI/MI game this was refreshing act of how coaches should respond. A big Thank You to the Valpo coach and players for allowing JH to make an appearance. VERY CLASSY
