Scoring picked up in the final 10 minutes of the first half in Carbondale, but not a lot.
The halftime score is: SIU 21 Loyola 19

Loyola is shooting 32% and is 0-8 from three, and SIU is shooting 37,5% and is 1-7 from three.

Good defense and effort by both teams but that is some ugly offense by both squads.

Who should the Bradley fans be rooting for?

Probably it helps Bradley more if SIU racks up more losses. But, it hurts the MVC when their top team (Loyola) gets beat by a team with a .500 record.
If Loyola loses again, this time to a Quadrant 3 opponent, they can probably kiss any chance of an at-large bid goodbye.
            So take your choice.

I watched some of this… I don’t think the Loyola team is improving much right now. They actually look like they need a loss or two or else they’re gonna stagnate. Maybe I’m wrong.
                Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

IMO they are not as good as the Cameron Krutwig teams. They lack an inside presence, and that doesn't leave their guards as wide open.
Loyola's 3-point percentage in MVC games (34.3%) is the lowest it's been in many years. They are still the top team in the MVC, but the MVC is weaker this year (rank 15th in conference RPI). But their lack of big men will likely mean more losses.

That was rough to watch last night, especially the refs standing on a ladder to get the ball out of the peach baskets.
