The game was very sloppy and both teams shot poorly.
ISU had 21 turnovers, and Evansville had 20.
Evansville's Shamar Givance scored on a driving layup to break a tie with 15 seconds left and give UE a 54-53 lead. Then ISU's Kendall Lewis was fouled with 3 seconds left. He made the first free throw, but missed the second. Evansville got the rebound, and freshman Preston Phillips was fouled and made both free throws to give Evansville the 56-53 win. It is their first MVC win this season. They improve to 1-6. ISU drops to 3-4.
In the final minute of the game, ISU's Sy Chatman came down awkwardly on a rebound and left knee appeared to flex laterally. He was in a lot of pain and had to be helped off the court and to the locker room. Hope he is OK.

The first half of this game was atrocious. I didn’t think Evansville would score more than 30 for the whole game. Their first 10 possessions they had 4 turnovers and 0-6 from the field.

Dan Muller was asked about Chatman's knee injury in the postgame press conference, and he said-
"We have to wait and see. I'm fearful. We won't know anything until we get back home and get an MRI scheduled is my guess."

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

That is INSANE. 40+ Point differential on same matchup, 3 days apart. Seems nearly impossible. I will say this after watching the end of this game: Givance is tough but undersized. ISU may be struggling with consistency.

              I know that’s a next-level assessment.
              Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

ISU Head Coach Dan Muller confirms that Sy Chatman suffered a torn ACL in his left knee as a result of that awkward fall he took near the end of Sunday's loss to Evansville. He will be lost for the rest of this season and is facing surgery to repair the ligament.
That is a huge loss for ISU. Chatman was 2nd on the team with a 13.5 points per game scoring average, and he averaged a team-leading 6.1 rebounds per game. He was ISU's only real inside presence on offense. No other big man on their roster averages more than 2.9 ppg.
