  • Ja'Shon Henry out indefinitely

After playing limited minutes at Illinois State after missing the 6 previous games, Ja'Shon Henry has been ruled out for tonight's game at Drake-

I don't remember seeing the incident, but Ja'Shon was hit on the back of his head in the 2nd half at ISU. It affected him and he was taken out of the game shortly after the hit. Apparently he is still showing concussion symptoms.

Coach Wardle says, "We got him out of there, he wasn't himself after that hit," Bradley coach Brian Wardle said. "We don't know if he'll be able to play again this season. His status is indefinite. It's obviously a huge hit to our team, he is our most-experienced player and a great leader."

I hate seeing Seniors have to go out like this. I feel terrible for Ja'Shon.

I saw that play, and it was one of 3 terrible no calls in the ISU game. The most egregious was the neck shot that Mast took on a breakaway that ended up as a turnover, which led to a 2 point swing. JaShon was going up for a shot and was whacked in the back of the head for another no-call, which turned into a turnover. Both of those plays could have been flagrant fouls, but the refs weren't very good. That being said, we played so badly in the 2nd half, we've got no one to blame but ourselves for that debacle.

Can't remember what the 3rd obvious no-call foul was, but I remember there being 3 that were just terrible. I think it was a hack on Leons on a 3 point shot.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

Would Jashon be eligible for an extra season either thru medical redshirt or an extra year because of Covid

He obviously is suffering serious issues. This is a TOUGH kid. After the Redbirds smacked him in the back of the head on a drive the other night, he slowed to a walk getting back on D, and for a second it looked like he might lay down at center court.
            Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

Yes. If he chooses, he could return for another season next year.

The announcers said he was hit in the eye, but they didn’t see it, when it was obvious he’d been hit in the back of the head.

I thought the refs being one sided at the start of the second half took us out of the game. We had pulled up a little after our hot start to the game. Then ISU came out aggressive to start the second half without getting called for contact. Meanwhile, Bradley was getting called for a lot of slight contact. Our players started playing softer to avoid foul calls, and couldn’t turn the physicality back up when the refs leveled out. We let it take us out of the game. Maybe the more accurate statement would be we took ourselves out of the game at that point. Disappointing night altogether.
                Gotta stop feeding the trolls.

I think with more experience that wont happen

I am thinking why risk it and just come back next year healthy. Most of our other key players are underclassmen. We would have a real experienced team next season

As much as I hate to see my favorite player having these medical issues I am glad Bradley and the medical staff are being cautious and looking out for Ja'Shon's medical health. Hopefully Ja'Shon will fully recover and be able to return next season.

Wish him good health. Came back only to get hit again... Sad for him

I hope he gets better. Sad but that might have been his last game, if he is still have issues after sitting out a month I don't expect him to come back and try playing again. Head injuries are no joke.

I was thinking he would anyhow after missing 3 games. This is not a good way to end his BU career.
He has loved playing and bonding with teammates and I can't see him NOT being on the roster again next year.
Ultimately the decision is up to him, and I respect that. GREAT young man.
