  • Anyone else glad we got Malevy??

The guy has been very consistent and he really plays well in 2nd half of games when we need a spark.
Solid rebounder, 3-pt shooter, shot-blocker, FT shooter (not many attempt), and underrated defender for his size on the perimeter.
Not a guy who you think as the best player on the court at the end of a game, but he's been about as consistent as you could ask for.

He was the JUCO POY for a reason and I'm pleased so far!

We may have 2 guys on the All-MVC 1st or 2nd team (Roberts & Mast), 1 on the All-Freshman team (Hickman), and 1 or 2 on Newcomer team (Leons & Roberts).

    Nah.

Kidding. Guy is a stud. I wish he'd take more shots.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

Me too Tommy - but if he can be Mr. Clutch taking a late 3-ball to win or a big board to secure a W, I'll be happy.
He lets the game come to him I think.

Hey - we're still in the thick of the league race - let's not write off our Braves. Other than game @ Indy St., we're playing some real good basketball lately!

He's pretty good now, seams to be getting better as the season goes on. Has a good 3 point stroke. I think he'll be really good next season.

Will he get an extra year because of Covid?

I never would write off the Braves under BW. He always has us ready for the MVC. Last year was an abberation due to that debacle in Missouri and the COVID nonsense. If BW can practice with his team and consistently play, we'll be ready come tourney time!

Love the guy. He is gonna be a big timer before he's through here. Very optimistic regarding our chances come March. IMO we would be undefeated in league play if we could shoot free throws.

Hard to argue with that statement.

The Braves do not look for him enough....he goes long stretches not touching the ball other than the rebounds he gets. Just once would like to see Mast throw it back out to an open Leon's at the 3!

Yes, exactly what I have noticed. Wardle has never had such a skilled low post player here, and maybe that explains why we don't seem to run any plays specifically for Malevy. As he gets stronger and more confident, I hope that changes.
I'm not saying Malevy can become another Cameron Krutwig, but I believe he can develop into one of the top couple inside scorers in the MVC, and he is also very good shooting the three.

I love having him here. The staff did an outstanding recruiting these young men and, IMO, got some steals.
He fills a stat sheet very quietly. Actually all of these guys do that. It seems like this team is comfortable with whomever has the hot hand.
I loved Childs but would take Leons over him any day. Very big team player.

Let's not get carried away! Childs is one of the best players we've ever had at BU and was a stud for us from his freshman season on.

Leons looks like a stud, but he's got a long ways to go to get into Child's territory.

I would compare Malevy and what I expect his impact will be for Bradley to ShanQuan Hemphill and what he did to elevate Drake last year. Their stats are very similar. Hemphill was MVC Newcomer of the Year last year. I really do think we will feature Malevy more and more in our offense as the conference season goes on.

It's too bad his rep was tarnished by that one weekend in Mizzou. When really taking a hard look back, Childs did so much for the program and is probably the closest to an NBA prospect we've had since POB. Childs was solid from his Freshman season and still had a decent year last one, though the whole season was bizarre and one I'd like to forget.
