Bradley loses to Toledo 67-65. Bradley had the final shot, but Roberts missed a three that would have won it.

Terry Roberts had a terrific game, but had to sit out for 5-6 minutes of the 2nd half with 4 fouls. That hurt Bradley and they fell behind 12 pints while Roberts was out. Roberts lead Bradley with 17 points, and it's hard to say that anyone else had a very good game. Malevy leons had 11 first half piints, ut did not make a basket in the 2nd half, and finished with 12 points. Bradley shot 43.4% overall and 34.8% from three, but were only 11-18 (61.1%) from the FT line. Toledo scored 34 points in the paint, and 19 second chance points due to some funny bounces and lapses on defense and rebounding in the paint.
Overall, a good effort, but a reappearance of some of the deficiencies that cost Bradley several earlier games- poor free throw shooting, not very good 3-point shooting, and suboptimal defense down low.
Next game is vs. St. Joseph's on Saturday, December 18.

Wow was Wardle pissed off and frustrated with the effort when he talked after the game. This was a winnable game but we have too many guys who can't play consistently from game to game and half to half. If we want to go contend for a Mo Valley championship that better change. College basketball is a 40 minute game. The closer we get to that the better our chance are. I have a feeling that the guys aren't only going to be working hard on the exams.

On the final play, I wish Leons would have kept going forward. It was probably a set play to get it back to Roberts, but it looked like Malevy could have driven and gotten a hoop or at least a foul. Roberts was closely guarded and kudos to him for making it close, but that seemed a much tougher pass-and-shot than Leons taking it to the hoop. Hey, the refs showed they weren't scared to call a cheap foul in the final seconds!Yajusneverno!

Can't rely on one guy for all our scoring, but the refs didn't help us with those ticky tack foul calls on Terry.
Like Cousins said earlier, though, free throws. My goodness! Please practice free throws! As Coach pointed out previously, if we make our free throws at a respectable level, we win these games.Larry Bird
I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

Great point, BU3342.
Another thing I noticed, when Ville hits a 3, we didn't go right back to him. He's such a streaky shooter than when he starts making them, I wish we'd just keep going back until he misses a few times in a row. All I know is that we need to find some scoring from some places other than Roberts (though Leons shot well in this game).
Also, hoping Rienk isn't experiencing the sophomore slump like we saw from Ville last season (someone else mentioned this earlier this week, so sorry if I'm re-stating your thoughts, but it was dead on so far). Rienk has been great on the boards, but he needs to keep putting the ball up until it starts going in if you ask me. We NEED him to be a scoring threat.Larry Bird
