"....but they are out of sync, and not playing well together. Innumerable bad passes and incredibly poor shooting, combined with inability to keep teams from shooting lights-out from the three point line has lead to the 2 losses."

Unfortunately, symptoms of a not so talented team at least so far.

Definitely a difficult loss but I think they have some real talented players that are new and have not been playing together for very long. Hopefully our coaches will figure it out and be able to blend this talent together before the Valley season opens.

Frankly this is going to go down as one of the most disappointing performances I've ever seen in person. The offense was beyond horrible. Too many bad passes, no movement, 18 turnovers, 5-27 from 3 and 13-26 from 1 is about as ugly as it can get. We didn't have a lead for the second straight game. Defensively we allowed them to shoot 26-50 overall, 13-24 from 3. Inexcusable. One time we scored 6 straight points during the game. That's it. Still waiting for our first lead of the season. Hopefully the guys can pick themselves up, dust themselves off and move on to the next game. Just have to remind ourselves it's early and as bad as it looks now it will get better. Have to remember UNI, with a lot of their key players back along with the return of A. J. Green, is 0-2 as well so hopefully the guys will learn from this and apply it in their next game.

The only bright spot in this game was the final buzzer.

If we have another season like last year, our coach is going to be in the hot seat next year. Our program will not accept lucky seasons rarely sprinkled into multi-year stink fests. The years that I donate money 100% correlate with the years we are in March Madness. This isn't the White Sox, I am not content dancing once or twice every 100 or so years. Plus, I feel bad for our players. They come here because they want something special and I want that for them as well.

Oh well time to hit up some Bulls games, they are so much fun this year!

Losing to Howard (actually getting their ass handed to them) at home is never acceptable and instantly puts you on the hot seat IMHO. Horrendous basketball. Geno Ford type of a clown show.

I am as disappointed as anyone, but come on. Comparing this team after 2 games to anything that Geno Ford put on the floor is a little bit of a stretch.
It was a miserable performance, but they were missing 2 experienced starters, one of whom was a preseason All-MVC pick, and started 4 players who had never started a Division I game before this season.
Brian Wardle is not on the hot seat, regardless of what happens this season.

The Valley as a whole has been really unimpressive so far, so it's not just Bradley. The shooting will get better (can't get much worse), but the one thing that I think is really missing right now is a sense of toughness. Childs provided such a tough inside presence, and was a great rebounder. Preventing second chance points is huge when you're struggling from the field, and right now the team doesn't have anybody like Childs who can get the tough rebounds and help stop runs by the other team by keeping them off the boards. Hopefully somebody can fill that role down the road.

Coach's assessment was pretty dead on. Can't shoot and we can't defend the 3. That's a recipe for a bad day regardless of the opponent.

Positive takeaways - Mast and Leons are solid players and the effort is there. We just need to learn how to put the ball in the basket and things will start falling into place for us. BW is a great coach and will turn this around.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

I agree. I get that we are all fans here and we want immediate results, but it is still November and much of the team with the exception of Mast, Henry, and Ville is new/inexperienced. It is going to take some time to figure things out. With the exception of last year's team, all of Wardle's teams had gotten better throughout the season.

If we are still playing like this into January (which I don't expect), then yeah we have a major problem and I'll start losing some of my faith in Wardle.

Rather start out slow and then get things gelling when the Valley season starts so Bradley can FINALLY contend for an MVC championship.
It's been 25 years now since we were legit threats halfway thru the season. I think we all agree that's embarrassing and time to turn that around.

Howard played at #5 ranked Villanova tonight, and hung close until midway into the 2nd half when Villanova went on a run to stretch an 8 point lead to 24 points. Howard continued their hot shooting. They shot 56.6% overall, and 12-24 (50%) from three.
Final score- Villanova 100 Howard 81
