The yearly MVC Coaches and Media polls, as well as the Preseason All-MVC picks for men's and women's basketball will be announced this week.
The MVC women's basketball poll will be announced later TODAY (Tuesday, Oct. 19).
The MVC men's basketball poll will be announced TOMORROW (Wednesday, Oct. 20).
Where will the Bradley teams be picked? And will there be any Bradley players on the Preseason Al-MVC teams?
My guesses-
The Bradley women finished 5th last season behind Missouri State, Drake, Illinois State, and UNI, with an MVC record of 10-8.
I think they will be picked 5th again, though because of their run to the 2021 MVC Tournament Championship, maybe they'll get a few more votes and could reach 4th. Gabi Haack should be a 1st team All-MVC pick (she was a 1st team Preseason and 1st team Postseason pick last year).
The Bradley men's team will probably get picked 5th behind Loyola, Drake, Missouri State, and UNI, who have more hype and they all have a lot of talented returning players, including multiple 5th year "bonus-year" returning players on each team. Bradley has had a large roster turnover and no returning seniors from last year, plus 3 of the top 4 scorers are gone (Childs, Nolan, East).
I also don't see any Bradley players getting named Preseason All-MVC, unless they include an Honorable Mention list, in which case maybe Rienk Mast might be picked, though a longshot.
Malevy Leons has a chance of being picked as Preseason Newcomer of the Year if that is one of the Preseason Picks.
