I have heard the Wright State rumor in the past, but I have also heard that Wright State inquired in 2017, but was told the Valley was not interested. Dayton lies too far out of the current MVC footprint. They are 600 miles from the Iowa schools and from Missouri State. There are better options.
In addition, Wright State is struggling financially with their athletic programs and have recently dropped three sports which put them several sports below the minimum to remain a Division I school-

The NCAA granted them a temporary waiver to remain Division I until 2022, even though they now only have 11 sports, well below the minimum 14 the NCAA requires. If they are unable to get back to 14 sports, they will be forced to drop down to Division II.-

As someone who lives in Nashville but grew up a huge BU fan in Peoria I am so excited about this announcement. Belmont is a great school (my son graduated from there) and brings a great program to the Valley. They have a nice arena that seats about 5000 and the school is very similar to Bradley in a lot of ways. Similar size, also private, and with a campus in the middle of town. Can't wait to see the Braves in town. Up until now the closest drive I had to a game was a 2 1/2 hour trip to Evansville.

There are other rumors that this move is not quite so imminent. We'll see...
