  • 2021-22 Itoo Hall Spaghetti Supper Monday, Sept. 27

The start of the 2021-22 Bradley basketball season is here. The 2021-22 Braves Club Itoo Hall Spaghetti Supper is tonight-
    https://bradleybraves.com/news/2021/...w-on-sale.aspx

    Doors open at 5:30 PM
Dinner starts serving at 6:00 PM and usually continues until after 7:00.
Introductions of men's and women's basketball teams starts around 7:00 pm featuring everyone's favorite announcer/MC Dave Snell, Men's Head Coach Brian Wardle, and Women's Head Coach Andrea Gorski. They will introduce the 2021-22 teams- the 2019 & 2020 Men's MVC Champions, and the 2021 Women's MVC Champions!

Note- tickets are still available at the door, and though this event is sponsored by the Braves Club, it is not just for Braves Club members. Everyone is welcome, and it is always a great time. The men's and women's players mingle and sit at the tables and dine with fans. There is a merchandise table with the newest Bradley stuff, and there are usually drawings and games with great prizes.

The photo on the Bradley link above is from the 2019 Itoo Hall Spaghetti Supper showing then-freshman Ville Tahvanainen eating across the table from a great dedicated fan who passed away earlier this year, Ed Ehrgott, who posted here regularly under the screen name "Wizard".

Just returned from the Itoo Hall event, and it was enjoyable as always with great food and a chance to see many of the great Bradley fans for the first time in a long time with last year's ban on attending games. Because of the pandemic, the crowd was the smallest I can recall for the Itoo Hall Spaghetti Supper, but still somewhere around 200+ people. The men's and women's players ate separately from the fans, because the team medical staff wanted to protect them from any possible exposure, but then the team introductions went like they usually do.

Coach Gorski is excited to have such a deep and talented team, especially with the return of Gabi Haack for a 5th season. They should be a contender for a regular season MVC title and look forward to defending their 2021 MVC Championship.

And here is some breaking news- In addition to team introductions, which included 8 newcomers to the team, Coach Wardle announced that Bradley's team practices will begin next week (schools are allowed to start practices as soon as tomorrow), and in addition to the Red-White scrimmage on Wednesday, October 13 and the home Exhibition game against UI-Springfield on Tuesday, November 2, Bradley will also play a closed scrimmage against a Power 5 D1 team.
That will be great experience for the team.

Thanks to the BU Athletic Department, the men's and women's teams, and the Braves Club for another terrific start to the basketball season!

Although the crowd was smaller than past years, just getting to see the players and coaches was great. I thought the team looked great. Now if Ari can just stay healthy and get 20-25 minutes per game, we could have a great season.

In case anyone was unsure how Malevy Leons pronounces his name (I was), we had a chance to finally hear him introduced himself at the Itoo Hall event, He pronounced his first name mal-uh-vy', with the emphasis on the final syllable, which rhymes with "eye".
He pronounced his last name lee'-ons (emphasis on 1st syllable).

Here is an article that has the pronunciation noted in the 4th paragraph-
