For the 2021-22 season, the MVC has announced a new forfeit rule regarding athletic events that are cancelled when a team is unable to compete due to any reason, including Covid.
Last season, such cancellations counted as "postponements" and efforts were made to reschedule them, or if they were not rescheduled, they were determined to be "no contest".
This season, such instances will count as forfeits. This applies to all MVC sports.

What if there is a weather-related reason or a transportation issue (i.e. cancelled flight) that results in a team being unable to get to a visiting city due to no fault of their own?
