Bradley loses a long time fan

Long time Bradley fan and supporter Ed Ehrgott passed away last Thursday-

Ed graduated from Bradley in 1958, served in the Air Force, then had a long business career, most of it in Peoria. Ed was very active in serving the Peoria community and was a huge Bradley basketball supporter and long time season ticket holder. He was one of the founders of the Bradley Chiefs Club (now known as the more PC "Braves Club") and served as it's President for years, and he was also a past President of the Bradley National Alumni Association. Ed was also a regular for many years on the Bradleyfans message board under the screen name "Wizard". He will be missed.

RIP Wizard. Enjoyed our back and forth banter on BU Basketball.

He was definitely an avid and active fan and it was great having him around the forums for such a long time.

In the late 1960’s , Ed was one of the noontime basketball players at the downtown YMCA. Among the regulars were Royce Elliot, Jack Totten, Joe Billy McDade, Dick Eagleton, Jim Watson, Booty Heidenrich(spelling?) and Steve Shostrom (before he started running). I had only been in Peoria a couple of years and was not really aware of who these people were and what they would accomplish in life. Looking back I realize that this was a group of men who would become major contributors to Peoria. Ed certainly belonged in this group. Thanks for all your contributions. You made a lasting impact on Peoria and especially Bradley athletics.

I worked with Ed for a couple of years back around the 2001-2002 timeframe... great guy, very experienced. It’s so funny to now find out Ed = Wizard. You never know how your worlds may intersect. We will miss you Wizard. Thanks for sharing your passion for Bradley hoops with us!
