Interesting to see, but I can't say I'm surprised. Some hoped he could come back but I imagine his bridge is pretty well burned with Bradley/Wardle.
I found it weird that the others graduated from Bradley however Childs did not despite being a senior. We never really got an update on his status with regards to the investigation of breaking University rules or even if criminal charges will be filed against him.
He is obviously a very talented basketball player who could make an immediate impact on a lot of teams, I am curious to see who will pick him up with all this baggage though.

Another strange twist to the story in a sad ending IMO. Maybe a new start to get away from what happened will work.......still a lot of mystery to this whole story without knowing if he will be cleared or not. Be surprised if someone big doesn't take a chance on him though. My guess would be Wichita State.

Sad day. Will miss seeing Childs on the court at Carver arena. Good luck, Eli, and thanks for all the great basketball you gave us!Larry Bird
I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

It has happened before, maybe not a high major but he will end up somewhere. Childs is facing a Class D felony if charged.
Also a sad fact to go along with that article; the man pictured in the article Alex Figueroa, who was given a second chance was recently arrested again for rape just last month. The victim the first time declined to testify and the charges got dropped.
Here is an article from two years ago talking about his NFL prospects.

“He’s a great human being,” said Jason Smelser, Central Oklahoma’s linebackers coach. “He’s been in my house with my 19-year-old daughter, and I’m comfortable with him.”

For the record again, Elijah has not been charged with anything. The Springfield News-Leader contacted the Springfield prosecutor again today and were told "his case in Springfield is still under review." I guess they work kind of slowly down there.

There were multiple rules violations that prompted the decision by the administration. He violated the team curfew rule, team, MVC, and university Covid precautions, and possibly other team and university rules. Normally though, I do not believe those would result in loss of scholarship for a first time offender.

May God bless you and watch over you Eli.
I hope you're landing is a gentle one.

Amen to that. Great post.
I have feelings of bitterness, but need to keep in mind what great things Eli did for BU hoops for 3.5 seasons. I'm just upset (for him) that his future is not as bright as we all thought at start of the season. STILL, hoping/praying that he makes the most of his next opportunity and want the best for him (as most of us do)
We all have the present to erase any past that we regret and would like to forget.

I'm curious what allegedly went down according to the victim. Am I correct in guessing that this event completely derailed the entire season? PMs welcome.

Sodomy in the second degree is a class D felony for which the maximum imprisonment is 7 years and the maximum fine is $10,000.
Eli hasn't been charged, so this is all alleged at this point in time.Larry Bird

In this article today from Dave Eminian, Coach Wardle confirms that Elijah Childs did graduate and leaves Bradley with his degree-
Eminian also reports that Thomas Hall has made at least one college visit (Augustana) as a football recruit, and is still deciding whether to leave Bradley for a college football career.
