The 2021 Cayman Islands classic was postponed until 2022 due to travel restrictions still in place because of Covid. Illinois State was scheduled to be in the 2021 Cayman Islands Classic, but will now participate in the 2022 tournament.

I see that Bradley plays Colorado in the first round of the Paradise Jam. After we kick their b**ts we will be playing Creighton. I asked my oldest son who is a Creighton fan ( I dont know where i went wrong. I raised him to be a Bradley fan) how they were going to be next year. He said between graduation and transfers they lost their whole starting rotation

As previously noted, the 2021 Cayman Islands Classic was postponed until 2022, and Illinois State, which was scheduled to participate was left without a tournament for 2021.
But, the 2021 Cancun Challenge reportedly will feature a 4-team, 2-day tournament to be held November 23 & 24, 2021.
And, CBS Sports Jon Rothstein has a new blog posted that reveals the 4 teams will include: Illinois State, Saint Louis, Buffalo, and Stephen F. Austin.
Official matchups and game times have yet to be determined.

Illinois State is playing in the 2021 Cancun Challenge featuring a 4-team, 2-day tournament to be held November 23 & 24, 2021.
The 4 teams will include: Illinois State, Saint Louis, Buffalo, and Stephen F. Austin.

Drake is playing in the ESPN Events Invitational Nov. 25–26 and 28 at Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The 8 teams include Alabama (SEC), Belmont (OVC), Dayton (A 10), Drake (MVC), Iona (MAAC), Kansas (Big 12), Miami (Fla.) (ACC), and North Texas (C-USA).

Valparaiso is playing in the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase Nov. 19–21 in Nassau, Bahamas. 8 Teams include Charlotte (C-USA), Drexel (CAA), Toledo (MAC), Valparaiso (MVC), and 4 more to be announced.

Missouri State will participate in the Naples Invitational from Nov. 22-22. Teams include George Washington, Middle Tennessee, Wright State, Ball State, Missouri State, and likely 3 more.

Evansville now is the only MVC team not announced to be in an early season tournament.

All 10 MVC teams are now scheduled to play in early-season tournaments this coming season.

Evansville will play in the Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Florida Nov. 22 to 24. It is an 8-team tournament including Akron (MAC), Appalachian State (Sun Belt), Delaware (CAA), Evansville (MVC), Fordham (A 10), Oakland (Horizon), Rice (C-USA), and Vermont (AE).

Bradley played in the Gulf Coast Showcase in November, 2016 in Coach Wardle's second season at Bradley.
BU lost to Hofstra 92-90. Freshman Darrell Brown, Jr. scored what would be his career-high of 34 points in just his 4th game at Bradley.
Bradley came back to beat Wofford 70-62 the next night. Then Bradley lost the 3rd game to George Mason 77-66.

Illinois State was already known to be scheduled to play in the 2021 Cancun Challenge featuring an 8-team, 2-day tournament to be held November 23 & 24, 2021. ISU is one of 4 teams in the Riviera Division which will include: Illinois State, Saint Louis, Buffalo, and Stephen F. Austin. But, today, the Cancun Challenge announced the matchups and schedule. Illinois State will play one home game against Bucknell on Nov. 20. Then they play 2 games in Mexico- Nov. 23 against St. Louis and Nov. 24 against either Stephen F. Austin or Buffalo-

Thanks DC. It's great to see most Valley teams are in tournaments with several outstanding teams and matchups. It's really important that the Valley teams play well and win some games, otherwise they (we) need to stop complaining about being overlooked by the NCAA selection committee.

I totally agree with this. As much as I want Bradley and the MVC to advance and be recognized each year it is up to them. Each team needs to understand they have to do more than just talk. When they go out onto the court they have to do one very important thing....WIN!!!
